We are thinking of building a pool. Do you have any good/bad experiences with pool builders? You input is appreciated.

What can I do next?

We just built a pool earlier this year. My husband did a lot of researchand we ended up going with Foley Pools. Someone I work with just built her 2nd pool with w/ them. They didn't always come out exactly when they said they would, but they finished quickly and we're very pleased with our pool. We were able to do everything; arbor, fence, landscape etc. through them too, so it was a lot easier dealing with only one company.

My neighbor SWEARS by Riverbend Pools. She just had her pool redone a couple of weeks ago and just goes on and on about them. Goodluck!

Waterford pools-Dave Dushman is the owner. You can go to www.waterfordpools.com to see some pictures. I have never been so happy to spend a big chunk of money in my life. They did everything they said they would do and in the time they said they would do it. Of course we had a few rain delays...but my pool is fab! I Highly recommend them. He and his girlfriend drove me around and showed me pools that they have done. Customer service was excellent.

My husband is the foreman for the excavation department at Riverbend. Their pools are more expensive than some but you get what you pay for. They have more rebar, closer together and more drains, etc. They can do very basic pools to very elaborate pools. Buddy Herrot is a salesman at Riverbend that my husband likes a lot.

We looked at Riverbend, Foley, and Custom Design Pools. We went with Riverbend. They were highly professional and on time. Foley seemed a little too "folksy" to me and I heard others complain about them taking longer than expected. I also liked Custom Design Pools. Some pool companies use Riverbend and Foleys show rooms against them, saying that you are paying for all of that with your pool. We had an experience with a bad contractor who we could never find or get a hold of -- he even stopped answering phone calls for awhile. So, I liked that these companies had show rooms that I could go to and find some one to fix my problem if I had one. Luckily, it never came down to that but it gave some peace of mind. Good Luck!

These guys are the best unless all you want is a rectangle and some concrete.
