Why don't you take her to the Doctor, TODAY.
It has been 4 days already......
Take her to the Doctor.
Why have you waited 4 days?

White stool, usually is not good.

You or anyone cannot guess at this.
ONLY A DOCTOR can properly diagnose this.

Whoa. Please make an appointment immediately.

White stool indicates a liver problem. Bile is not being made or delivered to the digestive system as it should be. You need to get your daughter to the doctor ASAP.

It can also be caused by medications such as Pepto Bismol (which should not be given to children at all) or Immodium. If you are giving your child these medications, please stop.

White, or pale in color can mean blocked bile ducts. This needs to be seen and addressed by her doctor. It can also be from children who are milk based diets, or on antacids.

I call the doctor and ask the on duty nurse and tell them her symptoms and more info. They will tell you if she needs to be seen right away or can wait for a reg appointment.

Which ever the case, please call her doctor! Good luck!

Everything I've ever seen regarding light-colored stool related to the liver somehow. Does she complain about her tummy hurting? Definitely get her in sooner rather than later.

I'm also seeing that it's not uncommon for stomach bugs in toddlers/infants to cause this coloring. I'm sure your doctor will have more info when you bring her in.

Good luck!

S.,

I really hope you have taken your baby to the ER. This is incredibly serious if its what I think it is--the body doesn't absorb the food correctly. Even if I am wrong which I hope I am, she needs to be seen by a doctor today. Hope she is ok! Please let us know what happens

White? No idea. All white? Or white flecks of something? Is it some undigested food or excess mucus mixed in? Shouldn't be all white though - I 'm not what in the body could cause that to be eliminated. Please post the answer so we know. Did you at least call to get some advice about what to feed her or not feed her? Even if you can't be seen (or they say you don't need to be), there should at least be a nurse to talk to or a pediatrician on call so you can get some info.

We were at the doc last night with white stool and lethargy in my 3yo. Diagnosis? Tummy bug. Let her sleep it off.

Doc told us that adults almost NEVER get white stool unless it's a liver issue. But with kids, eh. Probably a tummy bug, and if she wasn't back to herself in two days, go back to the doc.

With this caveat: white stool plus yellowing skin (jaundice) is a MAJOR warning for liver problems. Or hepatitis. Doctor NOW.

Either way, call the nurse, as has already been suggested, and describe the symptoms. It's always better to have the doc say you are overthinking it, than ignore it and have it be serious.

this happened to my daughter when she drank to much milk or dairy products-so I would just give her some molasses or a teaspoon of honey-and backed off all dairy products added more water to her intake.good luck

My daughter had white stool twice when she was really constipated one time. She might not be eating because her stomach hurts due to the constipation. My daughter won't touch anything when she gets this way. Take her to your doctor, but if you think it's constipation, Miralax will be her new best friend and you can buy it over the counter. You can get a prescription for the generic brand as well which will save money. It is great - you mix it with whatever she will drink, and there is no weird taste or texture. I've tried it and you can't tell the difference. It works wonders and doesn't give you cramps or the runs. :)

BTW - are you in the middle of potty training? If so she may be withholding. Just a thought...

Good luck!

This happened to my daughter after she ate a lot of white cheddar cheetos. There are other causes though and those can be serious. I would call your doctor.
