Do any of you who live in Collin county have any advice where to get my taxes done? I am self employed and have an uncommon return to file for 2010. I know it's a very late question, but I appreciate your answers.
Honestly, at this late date, I would just go through the phone book and see if any place can help you. I know from my own taxes that being self-employed complicates taxes a bit, so it's not just a quick, easy form for them to fill out. You may need to file for an extension.
TURBOTAX! It walks you through everything, its easy and tons cheaper than a CPA. Since we've been using turbotax we've gotten waaaayyy more money back than any CPA we've ever used. Good luck!

She's great and has been doing my taxes for the last 8 years.
All I can say is be very careful about using a service like H&R Block if you have some uncommon items. Many of their personnel cannot handle the tricky stuff.
As other mom's have suggested, you may want to get that extension filed.
Note: An extension does not give you additional time to pay if you owe taxes, just additional time to file.
Hmmm, better file for an extension on line TODAY, then find a good tax person!

They were wonderful, fit us in next day. We aren't self-employed, but we do have some odd work from home/work expeditures and they took them all in stride. Not the cheapest, but very good - and we got a refund this year, last year we paid with turbotax!
we have used Neifach and Associates (basically a wife and husband team) for several years and LOVE what they have done for us.........
