Hi Ladies!
I live in the mid-cities area, and I am wondering where some good places are to donate gently used toys. I would really prefer that they be donated not to be resold. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!!

What can I do next?

I'm not sure about toys, but Scottish Rite Childrens Hospital takes stuffed animals. Wverytime a child comesin for surgery, they give them a stuffed animal. My daughter still has the one she was given when she was 9mths old having surgery there. About once a year we make a deal out of giving a bag to them. You can also look up womens shelters and see if they would be interested.

Fire stations and police stations will take them. I just found out that every squad car has a stuffed animal in it for the offcer to give to a child in need of comfort.

I just donated a bunch of toys. I also say Grace in Grapevine. You just drive up and they take them out for you. You dont even have to get out of your car.

I know thisis farther for you to drive, however if you ever to come to Fort Worth, our church has a mission for the homeless people and families. They are able to come in and shop and pick out clothes and toys for free. The church I am a member of is First United Methodist Church-Fort Worth 800 5th Street-downtown Fort Worth. We have a separate building for the Mission-they get a sack lunch there, clothes, home items, baby food, diapers,etc... I am a part of United Methodist Women and we volunteer there a couple of times a month to organize and hang clothes there. I usually see a lot of small toys, but not very much of the larger toys. If you are interested in donating here, you can bring them to the church anytime the church is open and leave them at the front office or at our welcome center. Your welcome!

Call a battered women's shelter. I have called one in Fort Worth. They should take them as well as clothing, furniture and household items. They do not sell them, they give them to women in need.
