Where Do You Buy Your Lingerie?

I'm doing the husband project with a friend and I'm suppose to go buy lingerie for one of the projects. This is so far from something I would do only because my husband does not really care for it, but I'm trying to do every project that I can. So, where do you buy pretty lingerie that is not extremely expensive? Any tips for buying lingerie? I'm telling you I'm clueless when it comes to this.

What can I do next?

Kohls has some that is nice and not super pricey if you have the 30% off. Otherwise Victoria's Secret.

PS I have not bought lingerie in years ... I think I should do the husband project too!

What is the husband project? If it's meant to please a husband, why do something he doesn't like?

Google it.
There are new places to buy it all the time.
Measure your basic measurements (bust, cup size, hip size) and use a sites size chart to figure out what size to order.

I have been pleased with Victoria's Secret. The selection is terrific and for the most part the pieces are tasteful not trashy. Overall I think you can get just about any look you want, pretty/soft to edgy/vampy. I shop their sales and have been pleased with both cost and quality.

My first criteria for picking lingerie was did it even catch my eye. If it didn't, then there was no way I would put it on. My next consideration was how would I feel in that piece. I like coverage. Yeah, ok, sure, it's lingerie and it's all supposed to hang out, right? Well, not for me. I like some degree of modesty so I don't go for some styles. I am not saying I pick giant robes but you'll quickly find there's the whole range from micro thongs and pasties to babydolls. Dig around and see what speaks to your inner sexy. I find a little coverage boosts my confidence which feeds into my sexy feeling which in turns means I can wear it and exude come hither. Finally I think about what would suit my husband - colors he likes, the feel of things, the way things will drape. Not things a man would think of per se but things he will notice all the same. Good luck; it's supposed to be fun to shop for and fun to wear.

I buy it anywhere I see something I like that's in my budget - I have bought lingerie at Goodwill, Dollar General, Walmart, Target, Sears, Hearts, and Frederick's of Hollywood.

A quick scan of dept stores will turn up some OK pieces, try them on if you're not familiar with the styles that suit you because some lingerie can be hideously unflattering. In general, men are not too impressed with elaborate decoration, they just like a generally sexy look (as skimpy as possible but still flattering enough for you to feel confident). Go for "feel". Get the smoother mesh or lace over the scratchy cheap lace with poky underwires or whatever... You gotta think about how easily it will come off and slip back on if you're going to sleep in it. No need to go for the lacy corset and garters unless your husband really is into lingerie. Sometimes a plain tank top or cami works with frilly panties or cute lace cheeky styles. Victorias secret is good and discount places like TJ MAx have expensive brands marked way down. If you have time for trial and error, Amazon has lots too. If you see a super nice piece in a dept store, but it's too much money, remember the style and google it, sometimes Amazon will have it cheaper. I think your husband just may care for it if you get the right stuff :) No man "complains" when you throw on a sexy nightie to "sleep" instead of a tee shirt and flannels :) Good work, have fun!

Hmmm...I haven't bought nice lingerie in years...when I did, I went to Victoria's Secret but they're not a bargain. Really any department store (even Target and Wal-mart) will carry lingerie. It doesn't have to be skanky or complicated - a satin bra trimmed with lace, satiny bottoms also trimmed in lace, and/or a pretty camisole are pretty much sold everywhere. No need to jump in with a crotchless teddy or garters and stockings or anything ;-)

Look for a Victoria Secret outlet. I'm glad that you are game to do it although your husband SAYS he is not into it. Just go colorful and cute rather than trashy/sexy.

i'm so not a vixen.
i've boycotted VS ever since i bought an expensive bra from them that was completely wrongly constructed. they admitted it was a wonk bra, but refused to honor their own code and replace it. no more business from me.
the department stores have lingerie every bit as pretty and far less expensive anyway.
but i either buy in bulk from costco, or hit target.

I buy mine from Bravissimo.com. Its not cheap, but its worth it because I am an unusual bra size. I don't think most people would find Victoria's secret to be inexpensive, but thats another option. Department stores aren't much cheaper, buy you are more likely to find a sale. What a funny question. Since I wear it for such short burst of time, I'm still getting by on the linger I bought for our honeymoon 10 years ago! Its still in perfect condition! In any case. Your husband may like it more than he knows, so go for it.
