Our 46 inch tv just stopped working and the cost to repair are quite pricey. We don't want to make the expense right now so are thinking of just getting rid of it and using a different tv. Any suggestions on what to do with it? Can we sell it to a repair shop in the area? I don't want to just get rid of it, I am sure it is worth something.
You could put it on Freecycle or offer it on Craigslist for a low amount. Maybe someone who is handy will want it.
If no one will take it, look for an electronic recycling day to dispose of it. Please do not let it go to the landfill. There are several parts in tvs that should not be disposed of in a landfill due to the chemicals being hazardous. Good luck.
You could try and post it on napervilleyardsales.com (you don't have to live in Naperville) and see if someone would buy it. Maybe they would be willing to repair it. good Luck

Put it on Craig's list with a picture of the tv attached. If you don't want to deal with trying to get money for it, list it under the free section. I've given away some things for free and people are so grateful. Just use common sense, like have someone at home with you when the person comes to pick it up since you won't know them.
