What to Do with Stained Baby Clothes
My SIL recently had a girl so I went through all my daugther's baby clothes to give as hand me downs. About 1/3 have stains of some sort that I couldn't get out or didn't get out before they hit the dryer. I don't think anyone would want to buy stained clothes...and I don't think the resale/goodwill shops want stained clothes. What can I do with these clothes? I'm talking 0-12mos...gently worn but with stains.

If you don't want them and you don't think they're in good enough shape for a resale shop, list them for free on Craig's List or Freecycle.
If you think they're too stained for a resale shop, I would not give them to Salvation Army or Goodwill. They usually sell those things in resale shops and end up throwing out things that are in poor condition.

I agree with the poster below - Oxy Clean! Soak the clothes in oxy clean and warm or hot water overnight (I put the oxy clean in the washer as it's filling up, put the clothes in, let the washer finish filling up, and then stop it so that the clothes soak overnight in the washer). Then start it again the next morning and the oxy clean will continue to do its job throughout the wash cycle (I know some people that soak in oxy clean in a bucket or tub oustide of the washer and I don't think this is quite as effective). This has gotten paint out of my daughter's clothing (art projects at school!) even after it's been washed and dried. It's amazing what it will get out if you let it soak.

Oxy Clean. Let the clothes soak for awhile... it does miracles!! I wouldn't recommend for darks (red, black, jeans), but lights... fabulous!

Funny how invisible stains show up while the clothes are sitting in a box..
I have had very good luck getting out stains with liquid Tide... pour it right on the stain.. and run it through the wash...
I have found that Tide works better than spray and wash type sprays..
I would give the clothes once through the washer and see if they come clean..
Give the good ones to your sister i law and donate ther rest to salvation army..

Resale shops will not take them, but charity organizations like Goodwill and Salvation Army will. I wouldn't throw them out. Someone who can't afford anything could use them, especially if they are in good shape except for the stains.
