What Kind of Winter Are You Having?

I just want to toot my God's horn :) I started praying for a mild winter in September. I didn't ask for much. I just wanted to have less snow and ice and a little warmer temps so that the heat bills don't go so high. It's been paradise here in Kansas City! It's 55 here again today.

Are you enjoying this winter?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Tat2d~2~B~Amuse -- Sorry hon. It seems I sent you our snow LOL! That's the kind of winters we have been having for several years. That's why I started praying for a mild winter. Now I just thank him for it everyday.

You'll get a kick out of this. In my prayers I told the Lord I know we need at least a week or two of deep freeze to kill bugs LOL. So far he's been giving us down into the 20's overnight, even when it gets up to 50 during the day. It was 12 one day this week. But by and large it's been 50's and 60's most of January!

Fairly mild winter in the NE. First snowfall this weekend but has been
cold the past two weeks. Will take it compared to last winter where is
snowed like every other day. I do not mind the cold, just cannot stand the
snow and ICE.

I live in Federal Way...Which is 26 miles south of Seattle.

We just were hit with the worst storm I have ever witnessed in my 28 years of living here.

It started with mild Snow last Saturday...no biggie there we are the type of climate that an inch or two shuts everything down...so Tuesday when the kids were suppose to go back to school...They got a longer vacation.

We knew there was a snow storm that was to roll in Tuesday to Wednesday....We were suppose to get about 10 inches of snow.

Man were they dead on....10 inches when ever thing was all said and done snowing on Wednesday.

THURSDAY we had an unexpected ice storm that lasted over 8 hours....Of active ICE falling from the sky and coating everything. We lost power Thursday morning Early, and it did not return until the middle of the day Saturday. For a day and a half we listening to trees falling down all around us. They were snapping under the weight of ten inches snow and then the two inches of ice that had formed on top of the snow. My neighbor hood looks like some one came through and stomped everything down...There are still people without power at this very moment and wont have it back until Wednesday there is so much damage.

It lasted a week here...and that was about four days too long. I do not mind the snow..In fact in small doses I LOVE IT.....But this was scary.

We now have a tree in our front yard that is tilting side ways.....We will forever have to watch it when we get snow because of this. At least it is tilting out towards the street so we do not have to deal with it falling into the house...We can always clip it up and get it out of the street:)

I am SO ready for Spring...I want to walk out of my front door and smell the flowers and warm air.....I do not want to bundle up anymore or be cold just sitting....

If we get more snow I may go crazy....but we are known to get late snow...Last year we had snow falling the beginning of May...YUCK...

We will survive:) I am just hoping this does not become a normal thing for us...because I hated it........we didnt even get to really enjoy the snow before it turned into horrible ICE:(

We just had our first couple of inches of snow yesterday. The cold is tough, but i really want a good snow storm. I have been secretly praying too :) I want a snow storm, about 2ft, starting on a friday eve, when i have the house stocked with hot chocolate, pinot noir and fun groceries! I dont mind it as long as i am prepared and hubby is snowed in with us. Bring it on!! ;)

I am having a great winter, warmer then pass years.
I did like snow, specially new snow, the white snow that you can make snow men with, and see my kids having fun with it...but then it became dirty, and I couldn't find parking, and spend ours shoveling the snow out of your spot only for when as soon you left somebody park in there leaving you with the need to shovel another parking spot and the story repeats, only that sometimes the only place to park was 3 blocks from home, etc.
But since now I have a garage I would like to have snow again, but I have the feeling it may not happen.
At least this year I haven't make rich my Walmark buying a bunch of stuff for a snow storm that may or not happen.

I'm pretty sure I'm in the majority, but I really kind of hate the winter we are having! I'm in central Iowa and we just got our first snow on Friday. And it hasn't been that cold! Today it was in the 30s, but it's only been in the single digits about twice! I want cold! I like an actual winter!!!

I WANT some winter. My daughter got to go to PA this past weekend with my parents to see my older sister and they got some snow. I'm glad she got to play a little bit, but feel bad for my boys. I want some snow darnit!! I don't want a crazy cold winter...but a few good snow storms would be good.

I'm convinced we won't have any snow (pretty much like last year) because we bought a snow blower last year.

Kansas City? I always thought you lived near me - your profile says you live in Lakeside, CA. That's San Diego. Now, that's mild weather baby - we've been in the high 70's this week. If only I could get out of the office to enjoy it!
