I currently use Pampers or Huggies. However, I would like to save alittle money on diapers since my 6 month old is already going into size 4 diapers (thanks to her chubby, but cute legs).

I have tried the Target brand diapers and she broke out from them. Luvs seemed to leak....

Have you tried the Cub brand, Sams Club brand or Walmart brand? If so, how do you like them in comparision to Pampers and Huggies....

Just trying to save $$$ where we can....

Thanks!!!

~~EDITED~~
I used Luvs with my now 10yr old and back than they were still plastic on the outside and I loved them than... I used Pampers Cruisers and than Target brand with my now 4 1/2yr old son - when the Target brand was still decent. I had a few diapers from Target that are 2 yrs old and they are soo much better than they are now.

I am signed up for the coupon mailings for Huggies, Pampers and Luvs....

What can I do next?

I thnk that I have tried every brand out there! I now use Parents Choice (found at Wal Mart). I haven't had any problems with them. I found that I had just as many leaks with the name brands, such as Huggies and Pampers. So, I decided to save the money and go with the cheaper diapers. We buy them in the big box, and then they are even cheaper. The money that I can save on the Parents Choice brand I get to spend on gas now! :(

I use White Cloud/ Wal-Mart brand diapers unless I can get a better sale on Pampers or Huggies. I have not had an issue with my son and he's 2 1/2. My now 5 year old daughter used to get a rash with the White Cloud brand so I had to get Huggies or Pampers. From my experience those are the best 3.

I used the White Cloud Walmart brand and loved them! I never had any leaks or blowouts. The regular price is good, but once in a while they would go on sale and I would buy 5 or 6 boxes at a time.

Hi K.,

My boyfriend and I have twins that will be 2 in Septmeber. We tried all the generics when they were younger (since we had double, spending as little as possible is HUGE) and hated all of them. The ripping off of the tag was a problem we encountered frequently, and given we went through them so much, wasting them was unacceptable.

With the WalMart brand, we had diapers that came out of the package with the tags glued together, cut off, or partially detached right out of the box! Trust me, it's a good way to get pissed in the middle of the night...

I know the diapers change as they get bigger in size, so I don't know if the same problem would occur with a size 4 or larger. Our problems were in newborn to size 1 or 2 (depending on brand).

We used Luvs for a long time but have recently switched to Huggies because it seems the price has dropped on them.

Also, we registered at the Huggies website, and they send us coupons through emails that help. Luvs has recently sent us some, too. We also use generic wipes and baby soap as a way to increase our diaper allowance. AND we started going a little longer between diaper changes once they got a little older and were no longer getting diaper rashes.

Good luck!

K.,
We used the Sam's Club brand or the Walmart brand during the day, but at night we still had to buy Huggies. Both my boys just leaked at night time through the Sam's Club/Walmart brand. Good Luck.

Have you tried the new style Luvs? They have improved and have stretchy tabs now-- my daughter wears them day and night. They never leak for us. The diaper is super full in the morning but her jammies are dry! Good luck.

Well, if you're looking to save money, the all time cheapest option is cloth diapers! We use cloth, and LOVE it!!!!! It's easy, very cheap (saves at least a thousand dollars), better for baby and good for the environment as a bonus. The best option for saving money is using DSQ prefolds with covers. You can read more info on my website, http://www.jamesandlinnea.com/Default.aspx?tabid=86, which has links to some good pages to learn more. The best place to buy from is www.juliesstuff.com. Hope that helps!

We use huggies as well. One thing that could give you piece of mind for sticking with the name brands is joining their website and getting their coupons in the mail. Another option is purchasing the diapers at Sam's Club if you have a membership there or know someone that has one. When we buy diapers at Sam's Club, we save about $5, which adds up fast!

A second option would be maybe looking into cloth diapers. I don't know the excat stats on money savings with going cloth, but I know in the end you save more than a thousand dollars. I've heard a lot of great things about this diaper service that drops off and picks up your cloth diapers weekley, meaning you don't even have to wash them yourself! Her website is https://www.desmoinesdiaperservice.com/.

Hope this helps!

We tried Sams...they didn't work as well for us. We used White Cloud (found at Walmart). I didn't have the same problems I saw described below, in fact they worked very well for us, but switched (just cause they were a little cheaper, I think) to Parents brand (also at Walmart). I like the Parents best of the ones we used.

I hear Target Brand is pretty good too...

My favorite is Pampers Swaddlers. But they get so expensive!

I have tried the Walmart/White Cloud brand and did not like them at all. They did not hold up well for my daughter.

But I did find a generic brand that I do like. They are Walgreens Comfort-Stretch Diapers. The diapers hold up well! They are softer and more comfortable than any other generic I have tried. This week Walgreens has a sale of Buy 1 package and get a 2nd package for 50% off! GREAT DEAL!

Hi K.~
all i get for our little guy is the Parents Choice from Wal-Mart. They work really good for us during the day. He has started to wet so much at night that we started using Luvs at night and he has less wetness in the morning. I have always used Parents Choice since he was born and have no problems with them over all. We buy the boxes of them and out of the 4 packages in the box only one time did one of the packages have alot of glued tabs that was in the size 1 box i think. Last week we just bought another box of size 4 and it was under $20 for 92 diapers. I really like them and for the price of them and they work for us we can't go wrong with that price!

For that age I found Pampers cruisers to work the best. They never leaked for us. My kids got rashes from huggies and leaked in Luvs. But now that my daughter is potty trained, I have my 3 yr old son and 15 month old daughter in kirkland from costco and neither one have rashes or leakage. My kids have always leaked in the walmart ones and I didn't find them to be that comfortable looking and the sides didn't stretch which I never like sides that don't stretch.

I used huggies for a while with my first child, they work well but not the best value. My favorite diapers are now the KIRKLAND brand from costco. They are a good price come in a larger amount and even nicer than huggies.try them you wont be disapointed.

With my older three children I used White Cloud with very little problems other than an occasional ( maybe one every couple of boxes) velcro tab breaking off when I pulled it too hard. When I called the company about it they would send me a coupon for a discount. Another tip about White Cloud is that I went a size bigger than what the weight specified -- chubby legs and midsection--- and they rarely leaked. With my last baby I have used Pampers swaddlers and I love them, but she is still in a size two! When she gets older I'm pretty sure I'll use White Cloud again. My kids have sensitive skin too, I use either wet paper towels (make my own wipes -- which are very cost effective) or scent free wipes and then my kids were fine.

Hi,
My little guy--11 months--also leaked with the Target brand diapers. However, we use them during the day, since we're changing him every 2-4 hours, and then we use the Huggies Comfort Fit at night. He never leaks in those, and we're saving $$ b/c we're mostly using the Target brand. Hope this helps.
