Weight Loss and Boobies
ok If i developed early and all the women in my family are big chested (and overweight) and i weigh 40 lbs too much, If i lose those 40 lbs Would i actually be able to go from a 38DD to a 32 C???
Or to rephrase the question, have any of you big chested ladies lost enough weight that your boobies weren't the first thing people noticed about you???
I feel like most skinny people are pretty small in the chest, and if i can't get get to a much smaller bra size i will always look fat no matter how small my waist and thighs.
Might be a crazy question but i hope you can get the idea of what i'm talking about. Just trying to figure out this body image problem i have. any imput welcome.

Last year i began working with a trainer. I started out at 166 pounds with a 38 DD bra size. After 12 weeks i was down to 136 pounds and a 36D. Now I'm pregnant and can barely fit into a 38DD again! However, when I look at those pics from last summer (the tank tops, lower shirts) I am amazed at how small my chest looked compared to how I've always been. I'd prefer 36D's!!!

The breasts are mainly fat, so it stands to reason that when you start losing weight, you'll lose some in your breasts as well. Now, I don't know if you'll go from a 38DD to a 32C, but I know that when I lost weight I went from a 38DD to a 36C (I'm actually between a C and a D). My breasts still look large, but are in proportion to the rest of me.
HTH!

I don't have an answer to your weight loss question, though I suspect you would probably lose some volume in your cups, but its hard to say how much.
I wonder if you have had a really good bra fitting lately? I ask for two reasons, number one, you mention that your chest is the first thing you think people notice about you. I've always found that a properly-fitting bra can totally change your appearance by keeping your breasts up where they should be and keeping them within your frame. I wear a 36H, so I understand this can be a problem :)
Also, you said you wear a 38DD now, and that seems to be a size that is at or near the top of sizes that are readily available at most stores, so when you go looking for a bra, its what you end up with, because it's as close as you can get to something that fits and they don't carry anything else. I think A LOT of women who are wearing 38DDs would actually be much better off in a different size, but they don't know those sizes exist or don't know where to get them. I used to be one of those women. www.breakoutbras.com has great info on how to size yourself at home and get an accurate size. It's really easy. Or try Nordstrom if you live near one. I would stay out of Victoria's Secret, they aren't for those of us with large busts.
If losing weight is your goal then go for it, but a bra that really fits you might make a big difference in how you see yourself.
Good luck!

My girlfriend lost a whole cup size a few years ago when she lost 60lbs on weight watchers.

Unfortunately, my experience is that you won't make much of a change. I lost 20 lbs. last year on Weight Watchers and hoped I'd also lose in the chest. No such luck. Still 32DDDD. I think the greatest odds are that you might achieve the 32 measurement but remain DD.
If you want to minimize, my suggestion is to check that your clothes don't draw attention to your chest. I try to do a lot of v-necks (not low-cut) because I don't look like I'm bursting out of my tops like I get with crew necks.
Best of luck to you with your weight loss goals!

Ahahahahaha dream on....
Seriously it depends on your own body type. The only difference in me that 30 lbs make is I will go from 36DD to 30 DD. They are huge and nothing changes that. I thought major weight loss would shrink them but nope, no such thing. Still if you have a body type that your boobs are where the weight comes off first then sure, you will lose size with weight.

I appreciate your concern; having larger breasts myself as it runs in my family on my mom's side. After my two kids (17 months apart) I was the heaviest I've ever been and even after nursing my last one I was a 40 D! I've started watching what I eat and run/walking. I've lost over 20 pounds and am down to a 38 C. I plan on losing another 20 pounds and I'm expecting my breasts to shrink in proportion to the weight loss.
I appreciate your question regarding your breast size with your weight size (as I was miserable with how big mine had gotten and did not feel like they were "sexy" breasts) but I had started losing exercising and eating better for my health....not my boobs! I feel so much better, don't get as sick as often and can play with my kids without getting out of breath. I also feel better about myself and more confident at the play ground, pool and water parks.
I know I got off track with your question but wanted to put the "weight and health" issue out there.
Best wishes!!!!!
