Hello Mommas,
I know everyone is different but I guess there is some comfort in knowing that Im not the only one and I am sure that some have it way worse/different than me. Pre pregnancy I was always an average B cup and I have always been slender so a B cup suited me well. During pregnancy they looked phenomenal but sore as all heck. (I keep saying that if my breasts end up looking like they did when I was pregnant with my DD for my next pregnancy that I will for sure have to dress them up and take them out because the first time around I didnt take advantage LOL) Anyway now that I have lost all my pregnancy weight and breastfed for 13 months my breasts are...... Gone. WTH happened to them? I seriously have a little itty bity A cup now. Im not knocking small boobies but for me I have always had a chest that suited me so well and I liked the way they looked and now I guess I am still having to accept the fact that my breasts are just small(er) now and I dont like it. Have any of you mommas gone through this too?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you all for sharing your stories LARGE and small LOL. I guess only time will tell how things will work out for me. I have one perfect little 17 month old now and plan for one more baby so we shall see where that all takes me. Either way I am truly blessed for my DD and I wouldnt change anything (but a bit more boobies would be openly accepted here =)
Thanks again and have a great day

Mine didn't shrink so much as they flattened out. As my 3 year old said "mama, you boobies are lying down" *sigh*

If I ever win the lottery, I'm buying me a new rack! hahaha

I was DD pre-pregnancy - swelled to a G while breastfeeding for a year. I am now a DDD. I think everyone is different.

I have a friend that would tell you that her son "sucked her boobs away". She went from a full C, to s small flappy B.

She got a boob job to "put them back", and now looks phenomenal. :)

Anyone who says that nursing doesn't change your breasts is either A) a liar or B) lucky.

With my first son, after I was done pumping, nursing, etc. my usual perky Cs regressed to flat, pancake boobs with nipples that hung their head in shame. They were awful and I hated it.

With my second son, for many reasons I chose not to pump/nurse. I am soooooo happy because they plumped up again during pregnancy and did not revert back afterward. I am back to where I was before I first started having children with a little bit extra and I am so relieved!

Mine got 2 sizes larger. I was always perfectly happy with my C's, and after baby #1 they were D's, and after baby #2, they are DD's. I should be happy, but it's not like they're perky DD's. They are cow-like, saggy DD's. Some day I'm going to win the lottery and go get a mommy makeover at the plastic surgeon.

Only moms with similar boob stories have responded so far....so I thought I'd throw out my exact opposite story.

I was a 34 HH in high school and had the breast reduction in college, down to a D. The surgeon would not go smaller as I was 5'7" at the time.

I nursed all 3 babies, for a total of 6+plus years. And gosh darn, the gals came back. I'm now in a 38 GG...ugh. There about the size of my husband's head....just guessing. Now, I could stand to lose about 20 lbs...but even if I accomplish that I would not go through a reduction again. Just too painful.

There has got to be a genetic marker for this change in our bodies. Nursing must be triggering the fat concentration in our boobs.

A couple of my A cup girlfriends where these amazing, real feeling silicone gel pads in their bras. I swear I cannot tell the diff when we hug. Have you tried those? A lot easier than surgery at this point.

I hate to say this, I truly do, but apparently I fall into M.R.'s category of lucky. Pre-pregnancy I was a small C, and after bf-ing 2 kids 6 months each I'm a D. I'm tall and full-figured so the D cup doesn't look odd or out of place on me. They're not as high as they used to be, so I'm sure if I got a lift that would help, but with a good bra from Layne Bryant, there's really nothing these girls can't do, lol!

sigh.... i am weening my 15month old now and can already see the difference. :( it's not looking good.
my husband is fine with it! he's even fine with giant c-section scar! he says its from making him an daddy so he looks on them fondly.
i however, do not.
i cant do anything about the stretch marks, or disfiguring scar, but i can fix the BOOBS! and you know what, I just Might!!

YES went through the incredible shrinking boobies stage after I quit nursing baby #2 (a year). I started lifting chest a lot at the gym (heavier bench press, fly, etc.) and got my nice Bs back....before getting prego with my 3rd -- now I am back up to Ds. Get some weight training in to build the muscles under the boobs, it should help a bit....

I was wearing the wrong size bra pre-bfing, but once my DD was born, I went up to a 34GG. I've gone down to a 34DD. I nursed for 25 months and my boobs are totally deflated but still there. I am bigger than I was prepregancy. I think everyone is different. My friend started out with large Ds and stayed there even nursing. BFing is tough on the ladies but great for us and for the baby!

Everyone's descriptions have me cracking up. But it's SO true. I actually don't really know what mine will do. I assume there will be shrinkage. But I've been pregnant and/or nursing for the past several years, and I have no idea what my boobs will settle down to. Though, I did have a brief break after my first, and they were definitely smaller and different. Right now they are at a nice stage. I've warned my husband that they'll probably end up just flabs of soggy skin hanging down to my waist that I'll have to roll up at night with a tongue depressor (I guess I have a great-great aunt who would do that at night with her boobs??!).

I do know it's normal for boobs to change simply from pregnancy itself. So, once you get pregnant, odds are, your boobs won't be going back to normal. Nursing makes it worse then? I'd always assumed pregnancy did a number on them and it wouldn't really matter either way.

It only makes sense that these things happen...we get the blessing of carrying babies and feeding them with our bodies. Why shouldn't we get stretch marks, saggy belly skin (for some who get that), stretched out muscles, and soggy boobs as a "thank you" for doing all we do. hehe... (kind of seems like we should end up with *better* bodies by the time it's all said and done, right?!).

It's hard to go from having a body that you really like to having a body that is surviving the aftermath of having babies. But, it's worth it to me! Even if my boobs end up hanging down to my knees, flapping around in the wind and accidentally slapping passerbys in the face... (haha!). I'll be forever grateful for my precious babies and would do it all again. I just would like to ask God to modify the "consequences" for having babies. Maybe he will in the next life.

My breast are actually bigger, I went from a 38 B to a 40 D, but they are definitely a different shape, they are not as full, and they are not as high, they are kind of ...thinner? if that's the right word. I don't like them as much, but they did their job admirably!

I feel your pain!! The exact same thing happened to me. I was a B cup before I got pregnant...was a C cup during my pregnancies, then while I was nursing...and now that I've stopped I am an A cup. WTH?! I was very upset...still am...I found some nice push up bras ;) but I still wish I had my "old boobs" back.

I wish. I started as a 38DD and during pregnancy went to a 38DDD. When my milk came in I became a 38G and even after breastfeeding I'm still a 38G. Count your lucky stars. After pregnancy and lugging these puppies for 3 years, my back is constantly screaming at me and I get tension headaches at way too often.

I've never understood this... I am an average B cup pre-pregnancy. Just before pregnancy I starting wearing sports bras ONLY.

During my pregnancy, my breasts were sore and felt swollen... but not obviously bigger. Wearing my sports bra, I would not have noticed a small increase or decrease anyways.

After birth of #1, my breasts did not get huge or even noticeably bigger - I breastfed for 4.5 years with #1. My breasts look and feel the same as they did before pregnancy and breastfeeding #1.

I am pregnant with #2 now... breasts are still around the same size, but go thru phases of feeling swollen and sore. Not noticeable... especially wearing sports bras.

I'm due in July and I plan on breastfeeding at least 3 years with #2... Maybe some women are more genetically predisposed to loosing their breast tissue or maybe the super sizing of pregnancy and first rush of milk makes it hard for the body to quickly go back to what it was? I've had no problems with my breasts - weight gain in different areas tho is another subject entirely.

I breastfed all of my kids and right after i weaned them i have to say I felt like they had sucked me dry literally. Like I had no boobs left at all! My youngest is 7 now and I am back to what i would consider more normal for me a small B. I don't feel so deflated like i did when i first stopped breast feeding. I am not sure what specifically i did, i do know my boobs didn't feel back to normal for at least a year after I finished breastfeeding her. i work out and I think adding a little muscle to your chest will help your breasts look better and feel fuller and i know that going on the pill will help a little too.
& small boobies are the best - at least that is what my fiance says! (yay!!!)

In high school I was lugging around DDs on an itty bitty frame (I'm 5 ft 2 1/2 in)... I have permanent indentions on my clavicle from my bra straps. After 3 kids, I've got a full B cup, which is SO much better for my body frame!! BUT... they're soooo deflated and there's a lot of extra skin, yuck. One day I'll get them 'fluffed and lifted', but overall the change to a smaller chest suits me MUCH better... I just wear a bra 24/7 so they're not at my waist, LOL ;)

My breasts did become a bit smaller after my first pregnancy, and I did not breastfeed or pump at all. I hated to have gone from a c-cup to a b-cup because I have wide hips and smaller boobs do not help me. Now, I am breastfeeding my second child and my b-cups went to D or DD cups. I love them... they really make me look nice and balanced with my hips... I am really scared that after breastfeeding they will go back to smaller and saggier size than pre-pregnancy.. I would really hate it.. but I guess that is one of those things that if they really bother you, a surgeon can fix.

I think most of us have the deflated look for a period of time after breastfeeding. Over the years they did come back and filled out nicely. In fact after I stopped BFing I had clevage something I never had before. As mother nature would have it, things do change in size over the years and they fill out of "flop" down but they are still there. Perhaps I would have had mine "fluffed and puffed" if I had been for a younger generation.

But overall I am happy with what I have even if they are now a bit altered from surgery for health reasons. I am still here and alive so that is something.
