Hi there,

I would like to know if you would recommend a steam washer and why, if not why wouldn't you? Any other recommendations on washers and even the ones not to buy and why would be helpful!

Thanks in advance

What can I do next?

I can't help you on what to buy, but I can tell you not to purchase a GE machine. They suck and GE doesn't help with anything if you have any problems.

We bought a Frigidaire. It seemed to work good but now the clothes smell and I still haven't figured out why!!! UGH.

We just bought a Speed Queen high capacity washer and I love it! It's also made for use in laundromats so it's very large capacity and very durable!

I love my washer with the steam sanitize cycle! I wash the bedding, including the pillows in it a lot. The pillows come out as good as new! I dry them with a few tennis balls to fluff them back up. Love it!
I use it on towels that get extra grimy or the kids get sick on and they come super clean.
I use it to occassionally wash the cats bedding too.
I dont like to use it on too much clothing becuase I don't want things to super shrink from the high heat though. I instead just wash something ewxtra soiled like something the kids get sick on or have an accident in twice with vinegar and that cleans it up really well.
My dryer has a steam setting but I have never used it, I keep forgetting I have it for some reason.
I have a Kenmore front loader one. I can't remember exactly what the model is called but it was the biggest one they offered a couple years ago when I bought it.

I can't recommend what you should buy, but stay away from anything Frigidaire. We have 5 Frigidaire appliances (all purchased w/ in a yr or 2 from ea other) and we have had major problems w/ them all! Washer and dryer included!

Recently, our dishwasher was leaking and caused over $10,000 in damage to my home!!!!! Soooo, just beware! Good luck! :)
