We bought a Whirlpool Duet front loader washer almost 2 yrs ago. For the past month or so it has been giving me problems it keeps saying F H. My husband has checked and cleaned all the parts he can. He even checked the water pressure and it's not that and changed the hoses. I am just so frustrated with it right now. I really did like the washer before all this started to happen. I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem with theirs and what did they do. Also is there a front loader out there that won't have this much trouble or should I go back to a top loader.
We do have a repair man coming out tomorrow between 8am until 5 pm. Got to really love those time. Haha

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

The repair man told me nothing is wrong with my washer. All the vents, pumps and hose are very clean(thanks to my husband) and all the circuits are in good condition. So I spent a $180(including a extended warranty) so he can do the same things my husband did last night. The only other advice the repair man gave me was to unplug it for 10 to 15 minute and let it reboot. So we will try that the next time it happens again.

E.,

I bought a Duet almost 5 years ago. I have that happen to me only when I over load the washer. Then you wait for the door to open. Do not pry it open. My daughter did that to me on Friday. It broke the latch on the door. So now I am having to fix that today (we were out of town). That little piece is 60.00. Anyway take some of the clothes out and start it over (the load). It will clear itself out. Let us know what happens with the repair guy!!!

Happy Washing!

My husband sells appliances, and said that code can be caused by too much suds in the washer from using NON High efficiency detergents. IT is a sensor code, and is related to the water in your wash basin.

Hello -
I am experiencing the same problem with my washer. Started about a week ago and haven't been able to figure out what is wrong with it. The warranty ran out and can't really afford to pay Whirlpool's service people to fix it since they charge by the hour. Would you mind telling what the problem was with your washer? Maybe that will be a start to figuring out if I have the same problem.

Thanks a bunch!
M.

I don't know an answer but I have a duet and I hate it. I cloth diaper and it doesn't even get my diapers clean! It always says suds (even w/HE detergent sometimes). I dunno. I find clothes much less beat up (like they say), but not as clean. Guess that's the price to pay. Let us know if you find out what's causing the problem!

I just bought a new washer and dryer a year ago and the lid was rusting. I guess that is what was wrong witht he last one after years. The repair man told me the corners of the lid may need some paint on them or they could rust again. I also years ago had a whirlpool that the engine fell out one day after warranty. They said they would not fix it but sent a service man to look. When he saw it he was flabbergased. He called me and told me they will fix it. He had never seen anything like that before. I ended up upgrading to a bigger one same brand.

Very upsetting when things go out and they just make things to go out a day after the warranty. I had a customer that sold lawm mowers to department stores. There was a little thing that went out all the time. She told them about it and they said well if we fixed that then customers would not have to buy new as often. So there you go. Good luck with repairs. G. W
