I tried to take my 3-year-old to Bethesda Pediatrics today because she is running a fever, complaining that her ear hurts and is "drumming". She has been sick ever since we started a new daycare with an illness she has not recovered from yet.
My debit card was declined and I had no other form of payment, so Dr. Garcia refused to see Lydia. We have no insurance.
I need to find somewhere to take her because I am fairly certain she has a bad ear infection.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I tried calling County Hospital, but all I got was 2 minutes of ringing before I was disconnected both times that I called. My Internet was down until this evening, so I did not get all of the wonderful responses until now. I will try calling some of the numbers to see if they are open on weekends because my daughter's right ear is now draining a yellowish fluid and I fear that her eardrum may have perforated. The Banner nurse line was not helpful at all-I got that number when I called Chandler Memorial Hospital only to be told that they can't give medical advice over the phone.
Really....how hard does it have to be to get your kid seen when she is sick?

10/21 we went to the emergency room at Chandler Regional Hospital...which I found by chance while I was driving around. They were wonderful there! They are billing me and also trying to get my kids signed up for Access.

Lydia's right eardrum perforated and her left one may also have perforated. The drainage wasn't as bad on the left side. She was given antibiotics and ear drops. Hopefully that will clear it up.

The emergency room visit ended up totalling over $1300! Yikes!!!

If she has an ear infecion - go to "desert sage herbs" on alma school, just south of warner. (across from the fire house)
They have drops you can use to clear up this ear infection.

I've done it and it works! No meds, not dr and small price to pay.
ask for Brittney, if she is there she is awesome!

I would either take her to an Urgent care that may or may not take her or take her to the emergency room. Not only will they see her. I know it will be a long wait but they will also see about getting the paperwork filled out to get her insurance most likely kidscare. This is like ACCHESS insurance but the income allowance is higher.

Good luck I hope she feels better soon.

I am not sure if the emergency room will take you and bill you, i would call and find out. Also, Dr. Madrid on Dobson, right next to the hospital is great and they may be able to help. Pax Lumina pediatrics, it used to be under abc pediatric. great dr. Good Luck and I hope she is feeling better soon.

Hi B. :)
You can take her to any Urgent Care, they will see her and prescribe medication as well. You can be billed and pay later which is a life saver when you are in a situation like this/ I had the same problem with my daughter we had only liver here for about two months and she had gotten sick, our insurance did not start so I didn't know what to do. I hope this works out :)

Wishing you luck!

I am sure you can take her to the emergancy room and they will see her and you can apply for access too while you are there. Or have you looked into kids care az. I don't know anything about it but I have heard they accept kids who need insurance.
