I.,

I totally relate. I too need to lose 20 lbs. Plus I'm doing the 3 day walk for breast cancer in October. That should be all the motivation I need, but it's still so hard! If you want to talk or email and be partners in crime, let me know..LOL! Hey, you could join the 3 day with with me, meanwhile be apart of a wonderful cause. I'm on a team of 13 people and we train together once a week.

I. - as one mom mentioned - don't "diet" find what works for your body. I eat breakfast...snack...lunch...snack...and dinner...it really does speed up your metabolism - but your bodymay prefer more carbs...or more protein - you don't cut anything out - just watch your portions. And yes - exercising is also very important...walking or whatever you can swing! Don't know your area - but I walk and go to Curves...

Hi I.!
I know exactly where you are coming from. I had my son about a year ago, gained 50lbs and am finally back to my prepregnancy size! I did it all on the Arbonne's Figure 8 weight loss program.
It is a safe, highly effective, and all natural, Vegan weight loss system. I highly recommend this as a method to effectively, healthfully and naturally lose weight. It includes fiber and protein shakes, detox tea, weight loss chews which act as natural appetite suppressants and energy enhancers, and dietary supplements that also suppress your appetite.
Arbonne also has a website designated just for those trying to lose weight with this system. It's awesome because it allows you to communicate with others using the system. You can also get recipe ideas and success tips on the site. It's all available to you with the purchase of the system.
You can try it, and if for some reason you feel it isn't for you, Arbonne has a 45-day money back guarantee!
If you're interested or would like to try some samples before you buy, please feel free to contact me at:

Hi I., I was having a very hard time losing weight after having my son 16 months ago. I had lost the weight and then it went right back on within a month. I started Weight Watchers in March and I have lost 20 pounds so far. I still have a ways to go but I know I will do it. Weight Watchers isn't a quick fix but it really makes your realize what and how much you are putting into your body. I still eat pizza once a week and still eat the things I like - I just do it in a healthier way. I highly recommend Weight Watchers.

Another vote for Weight Watchers. It helped after my first baby, and now after my second I am using it again. You can do it online if you are too busy to go to meetings like me. It is good because I don't feel like I am on a diet because I can eat anything I want, just in moderation. It teaches you HOW to eat.

I agree with the Weight Watchers suggestion as well. I have tried everything.. Jenny Craig, pills, Atkins, and all the diet books. I keep going back to Weight Watchers. The first week you lose the most, and then you lose steadily after that. You may only lose 2 lbs a week after the first few weeks, but when you lose weight that slow you will keep it off. Sometimes I have gone overboard for a whole weekend, but am back to my Friday morning weight by Tuesday. With a speed diet, everything would have been back.

After my 2nd son was born, I did Jenny Craig.. lost 20 lbs QUICK, and gained it back even QUICKER. With Weight Watchers you can eat anything.. just in moderation. I do the online program, because I don't have time to go to meetings with the kids, etc. They have a database of every food imaginable and gives you the point values. It also has tons of recipes, and sucess stories.

You get a specific amount of points per day depending on your weight and then an additional 35 points a week.. which is great if you decide to splurge on night, or go to a party. The online program is $16.95 a month.

There are a lot of lifestyle changes you will learn as well.. like not eating after a certain time, benefits of water, etc.

GOOD LUCK with whatever you choose!!

I.---I know what you're going through. I had my last baby at the age of 39 and had to go on bed rest. This was particularly difficult because I was in the fitness business at the time. I knew at that point that the weight I gained was going to be twice as difficult to lose because of not being able to stay active through my pregnancy.

The one thing I've learned in all my research is that you have to find the right balance for you. Balance meaning your diet and exercise routine. By diet I don't mean going on a diet, but you need to find out what your body does and doesn't need. I learned I had several mild to severe food allergies. When I cut these foods out of my diet I lost some weight that hasn't come back. When you eat something your body has a difficult time digesting, it can effect many other functions in your body. Including just the general feeling of well being.

Then you need to research exercise programs. Find what you enjoy doing and won't be difficult to maintain a consistent routine. I learned that I do better if I'm in a class situation. I'm encouraged by trying to keep up with others.

What I also learned is that when you keep a consistant level of activity, you can eat the things you really enjoy.

I don't know what area of town you live in, but I'm looking for someone to workout with. To me it's a lot more fun to work out with someone and then you have time with a friend as well, which is very important when you have small chilren at home. Please contact me if you like. D.

Hello there -

Okay, so I think that I have tried almost EVERYthing out there - Weight Watchers, Atkins, South Beach, Slim In Six, The Zone, Slim for Life, Body for Life, you name it, I have tried it.

The truth is, they all work, if you do them. That is the hard part. I like food, I like carbs, I don't want to be stuck counting points or feeling hungry, raiding the fridge at 3 am. I don't want to work out for two hours every day of the week. With all of these, I found that if I slipped and "cheated" once, all was lost, I ate until I was over my starting weight, if not more... the "if I am gonna cheat, I am gonna do it right" mentality.

I recently found a company that has only been around for 5 years, but has had tremendous success! I started a 30 day program two weeks ago and I am now down 10 lbs and 12 inches, I feel amazing!! My mom is also doing the 30 day program and has lost 13 lbs and 10 inches. My boyfriend, my brother, and my stepdad are all having success as well. It is called Isagenix and I signed up to get the wholesale prices. I have a shake in the morning and one for dinner and then have a good lunch.

I cleanse once a week to rid my body of impurities and I do 20-30 minutes on the treadmill 3 - 4 times per week. Once I reach my goal weight, I will have one shake in the morning and cleanse twice a month. Every person that I know (outside of my family) has lost a minimum of 8 lbs, one that I know lost 22 lbs in 2 months and if she "cheats" she hasn't put it back on.

If you want to check into it, www.invigoratinglife.isagenix.com. Read up on the different programs, check out the success videos, watch the newscasts, etc. If you have questions or want more info - please email me at ____@____.com

Whatever you try, hang in there. I have lost a total of 40 lbs since I had my son 3 years ago, it takes time and determination. Chin up!!

I highly recommend Weight Wathers as well. When I was dating my youngest son's dad, I was the biggest I had ever been so I thought. I was a size 18 pants and was so miserable. I started weight watchers and lost 25 pounds but then I found I was pregnant w/my son. I went through a lot of emotional stress which was caused by my husband leaving me which caused a lot of complication and was put on bedrest. I ended up w/the pregnancy the biggest ever, I was so depressed Needless to say it was all baby so after I had the baby I went back to weight watchers and joined Lifetime fitness a year later and now I am also taking the Arbonne figure 8 and am weighing what I haven't in years. I am now a size 12 and still need to lose at least 30 pounds to be the person I once was but I am happy where I am.

Good Luck to you.

Hi I.,

Weight has been anissue with me all my life and after I started having my children it got worse adn worse. After my second daughter was born I tried EVERYTHING to loose weight and it was not happening for me. I realized that I had no "will power" and I needed to be more disciplined with my choices. I purchased a book from Joyce Meyer called "Look Great, Feel Great". It really explained the spiritual aspects of being over weight like dealing with depression about being over weight, etc and it also shared what God says about food and doing things in excess. The main thing that stuck out to me was that it was not about having "will-power" it's about "Spirit Power" from the Holy Spirit. It struck me that I had not ever allowed God to enter into my weight loss equation. I was trying to do it on my own...and the Bible says, "Apart from me you can do nothing."(John 15:5) I cried out to the Lord to help me and in my spirit He told me that I have tried everything to loose weight but I have not come to Him for help. He wanted me to give up something...just one thing...for Him. I decided to give up white sugar 2 weeks before Christmas and everytime I deserts or things with white sugar were around or offered to me, I declined and it was VERY hard but I thought in my mind and silently prayed, "God, I love you more than that food!!" He gave me the strength to say "No".

Two weeks later my husband and I went to Fellowship Church in Plano and the Senior Pastor Ed Young challenged everyone to a 21 day fast(only eating fresh fruits, veggies, brown rice-no animal products, condiments, caffine, sugar, etc)...not to loose weight, but to unleash the Power of God in our lives. We decided to do the fast and stuck with it for 21 days...WOW have our lives changed. It has been 5 months since the fast and we have seen major blessing in our lives!! The main blessing in my life has been the self-control that I have gained..In the Bible it says," Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord of hosts."(Zechariah 4:6). It's not my will power but "Spirit-Power" from the Holy Spirit that helps me make right choices in food and exercise. We have kept the healthy way of eating that we learned from the fast and still eat fresh fruits and veggies, very little meat only a little chicken. Now, we will sometimes have deserts and fast food but we have control over it. It's still not "easy" and I still have to make an effort to eat properly, but I have lost a total of 30 pounds and my husband has lost 25! I am more healthy than I have ever been and I am also closer to the Lord than I have ever been. He is more powerful than any "diet" you could go on. Try Him, like I did, and you cannot and will not fail. You are His beloved daughter and he loves you more than anyone! Bring your worries and your heart to Him and let Him give you strength and the "Spirit Power" to live a healthy lifestyle throught Jesus Christ.

If you want to know more about the fast that I did you can go to www.fellowshipchurch.com and in the search window type in "fast". It will give you info on the exact fast that we did and they also have daily devotions that you can do to help you stay focused on the things of God and not food. God Bless You!!

I'm going to add to the Weight Watchers group. This is truly the healthy keep it off way. I love sweets and I don't feel like I am missing out on anything. I lost 40lbs originaly and have kept 35lbs off for a year. This was really the plan for me. Hope this helps! They have a web site so you can do the program online if childcare is an issue. Some groups welcome children though.

www.gocleanse.com/kathiland for ABC and FOX news stating this program works, and leave info for more info. Go to www.kathiland.isagenix.com. to order under me.

I lost 13 pds the first 9 day program (figuring I can handle anything for 9 days), then waited for days and did another 9 day program and lost 10 more.

I gained 2 back, but all in all 20 pds in 24 days. This program works and I will email you a schedule of this easy program. It detoxifys your body so it will start working at its optimal best and is so healthy for you even if you don't have weight to lose. Good luck no matter what you decide.

I.,

Don't want to sound like a broken record, but Weight Watchers is great. I was working out four to five times a week and couldn't loose weight. While working out is good, you must also eat the right foods in the right amount. I started with the point system and then moved to the core plan.

I saw the greatest loss with the core plan, but the point system helps give you persepctive on what you are eating. I thought I was eating healthy with a tuna sandwich. That one meal was all my point for the day. It's amazing how aware this program makes you of what you eat.

Good luck. If you decide to try W.W. it is pretty afforadable, provides you support and helps give you some news ideas for controlling your weight.

This is what has worked for me plus some other suggestions.

1. Weight watchers (I used the online program)
2. Running/walking-this can be great if you get a MP3 player and record your own music.
3. I was using Hoodia when I got pregnant-that is an over the counter herbal supplement (got it at Wal Mart)-it worked pretty well at supressing my appetite without making me nervous/jittery-except it also supressed the efficacy of my birth control pill, thus I am now pregnant!
4. Phetemanine (sp?) I have heard that this works really well. Haven't tried it. You may have to get a prescription for this. Some people have ordered it online. May want to research this. Some of the prescription meds for appetite suppression may have long term effects on your heart.
5. If you are able to join a club, resistance weight training is great way to lose weight. This combined with some cardio, like running, really helps. It also helps to break things up. Even going for just 3x a week will help. There are some clubs that have "Kids clubs" that will watch your kids while you work out. Some are really nice. I am in Forney, I was going to join the 24hr Fitness Sport in Mesquite by Town East Mall (before I got pregnant). They have a big kids place for them to play and 2-3 workers to watch them. Some work out places convert what looks like an old janitor's closet to be their kids' place-with no supervision. So if you are interested in joining a club, I would tour several.
6. If there is a sport that you used to play and enjoyed (like Tennis, softball, etc), that is also a good way to get moving. You may want to check out Meetup.com and see if there are any teams/clubs that are in your area. After I have the baby, I would love to find a softball team to play on!
7. I have also done some reading on the Sonoma diet. What I really got out of that book, was reading the label on EVERYTHING. The book stated that if an ingredient is in the first 5 listed, it is a major ingredient. Avoid ones that have enriched flour and sugar. Even the most healthiest looking stuff can be cram-packed with sugar!

Most of all-HANG IN THERE! They say the last 20lbs are the HARDEST of all to lose. Before I got pregnant, I had 20lbs to lose too, and it seemed the weight seemed to be just CREEPING OFF. It will happen, just maybe a lot slower than you preferred. Even if you just lost 1 lb a month, in 10 months you have lost 10 lbs! So, try to lower your expectations on how fast you think you should be losing weight.

Good luck!
