Hi mommas!

I have a son who is 16 months and a daughter who will be turning 13 in June. So, I want to get pregant just as bad as I did when I was trying for my son. The thing is, I had no trouble with my first two children. Now, I am having such a hard time. I went to my doc, he is such a nice guy and is working with me as much as he can. So, I am taking Clomid 150mg daily for 5 days every month and getting sonos to check to see how things are working. So far, I am not producing any eggs. My heart sinks everytime. So, the doc gave me Metformin ER 750mg twice a day. He did blood work and I am waiting on that to come back. I took this med and I feel so sick to my stomache and it upsets my stomache. I can't work like this, I spend more time in the bathroom then I do at my desk. Not a good thing at work. So, I called the doc yesterday and I take it once a day for a week then twice a day after that. How can you tell if you ovulating without taking a test? Is there a discharge? Sorry for such a stupid question. I was using the kit, but the doc said that with taking Clomid that it would make the test postive/faluse.

My mom and grandmother went through meanapouse at 33.. I turn 33 this year.. I sure hope this is not happening to me yet. I want one more baby!

So, my question is... is there anything else I can do naterally? I have been trying since my son has been born!

Thanks for listening!
L.

So What Happened?

Just an update. So far nothing has happened. I did go for a sono and the tech though she saw a baby in the very early stage, but she could not tell. I have been thinking about this for a few weeks. I don't want to take a test to early and waste it. We all know they are not cheap.

Hi there-

Sorry to hear that you are struggling with this. My friend went through this too and she eventually got pregnant with the clomid, but at the max dose. Her doctor put her on Glucophage/ Metformin too. This is what your doc gave you that is making you sick, right? IF so, there is a type that is made to prevent the sick feeling. It is called Glucophage/ Metformin ER (or XR). Less medicine is delivered at one time thus preventing the sick feeling. Try this as it may be the trick that you are looking for. It helped my friend. :)

Good luck.

Are your cycles regular? Were you previously ovulating? I think if you are producing zero eggs that is not a good sign and I'm sorry to say, you may already be in premature ovarian failure, especially given your family history. Quantity and quality of eggs are one of the major reasons women cannot get pg. If you are producing no eggs WITH clomid, no natural remedies are going to help. You may have to move to donor eggs. I'm so sorry, I wish I could offer you some more encouragement, but I have been going through infertility treatmments for two years - first with my own eggs and now with donor egg - and I have seen this over and over again in my support groups - low egg quality/quantity. I hope I am wrong, but I can't imagine why else you would be producing no eggs at all.

Editing because I didn't read carefully enough the first time. I am concerned that your doc put you on meds before waiting for bloodwork results. It sounds like you would be better served by a fertility specialist- expecially if you are entering menopause. That way you don't waste time.

Are you seeing your obgyn? If so, you may wish to request a referral to see a Reproductive Endocrinologist. No disrespect to your doctor, but given the information you've provided us you might wish to seek the expertise of someone who specializes in RE and works exclusively with those types of patients/issues. It would be like if you were having issues with breastfeeding - while you certainly could enlist the aid of your obgyn, you would likely get better results by seeing a lactation consultant. Good luck to you!
