Trying for a Girl

I've heard the longer btw kids the greater the chance of a boy, so you're right on track by starting now. Unfortunately, as you age your chances of having a boy also increase.

If it's really important to you, you can have a girl 100% guaranteed if you choose to adopt. Not only would you save a little girl, but you would have a particularly close and special relationship for having given each other what you'd wished for. You'd also have that great mother-daughter bond when she has your grandchildren. If you aren't successful conceiving a girl this last time, I hope you don't spend the rest of your life with regrets -- you can have a girl if you really want through adoption. I was watching a show about Having babies and the doctor that was answering questions said that Really the only way that you can plan the sex of your child is by watching your ovulation dates. He said that the closet date you have sex to your ovulation date you are more likely to have a boy. If you have sex way before or after your ovulation date then you are more likely to have a girl. I don't know if this helps. Me personally I don't think there is any real way to chose the sex of your child. I believe that god gives you something special whether its a boy or girl. If I were you I would be happy with either.

i am a mom of 2 girls! i have heard that timing sex BEFORE you ovulate or after you ovulate with make girls. So my best advice is just do the deed EVERYDAY!! that is what hubby and i did! now we have 2 girls! ages almost 5 and my baby Emma just turned 1 day after xmas! wow! 3 boys! whats YOUR secret!! send me some BOY baby dust! hehe. we too want 1 more then are DONE and we want a BOY! But whatever we get we will be happy and love it of course!!

It's been 14+ years that we had our success, but we read the book "How to Choose the Sex of your Baby" It was wonderful...enjoyable reading with no promises.

As others have said, I definitely recommend "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". It makes you feel like you have total control over the sex of your baby. Good luck trying for a girl! They are so much FUN!!!!

I have heard for a girl, Daddy should take a cold shower before intercourse... but don't know if it works. we got pregnant with our girl in the summer and our boy in the winter.. good luck!

I agree with the before mentioned recommendations: Sex a few days before ovulation is the only chance to tip your odds in favor of having a girl, but by all means no guarantee. Adoption is the only way to be sure, or some sort of fertility treatment, where the doctors sift most of the boy sperms out and fertilize you with the rest; but let's be honest, if you don't HAVE to go that path, why bother. And even with this treatment there's still a chance to have a boy, because not 100% of the boy sperms can be sifted out.

I've heard of different positions, diets, douches to change the pH of the vagina/cervical area... maybe they work, maybe they don't. Kids are gift. The ultimate grab bag, surprises each and every one of them. My concerns for you are if you hear of a method to guarantee the sex of your baby and you deliver a son, just how disappointed are you going to be and how will that disappointment manifest itself in your family? Honestly, don't have a fourth child if the only reason you're having one is that you want a girl. Have a fourth one because you want that additional bundle of joy to join your family, adding love and joy every day of their and your lives.

When we were trying for our daughter I had heard that 1. woman on top was more likely to produce a girl and 2. keep track of when you ovulate, then 5 days before you should ovulate begin "trying." This is what we did and we did have a girl. I don't know if it was coincidence or not.
