Hi J.,

I am not in Lewisville so I don't know much about that courtyard. There are 3 of them. Which one are you talking about.

Look them up the licensing website at:

http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Care/Search_Texas_Child...

The one off: Edmonds
In November they were written up for leaving a toddler in the room alone. It did not say if the teachers were terminated. They are suppose to be. (my last job was an Asst. Dir at a center)

The one off: N. Garden Ridge
Written up last month on medication,
written up in January child was hurt and they did not follow correct prodecure thinking the child did not need medical help when in fact he did.
September of last year- hazardous equipment on playground
There were a few more but are over a year old

The one off: Willow Grove
Written up in October wrong matresses in infant beds.
Written up in October for not inspecting the playground in the morning before children go out to play ...(some parents dont think this is a big deal it is. We use to find used condoms, cigarettes, dead animals etc.. trash on the playground.)

I know the courtyards around me (keller) are known for just being daycares (no curriculum really) and they arent very clean. I would definitely go check it out and ask lots of questions, google sum if you need too.

My friend used to work there, she loved it. We used to babysit some kids that used to go there and they never had any problems with them that I know of.

We used the Courtyard in Valley Ranch. They were okay but very cooperate for my taste.

If you want something more family owned...I'd check into Discover and Share (they have web site and are an accredited daycare and kindergarten)in Coppell off of MacArthur and Beltline. I know of someone that used Children's Courtyard in Lewisville for her son (due to public school and D and S too far apart from one another), but her daughter continued at Discover and Share because she felt D & S offered more personal care.

J. - you didn't specify which one. I used the Courtyard at 1504 Garden Ridge briefly - and it was just plagued from day one...director was murdered by her husband...daycare caught fire....we did not like this Courtyard due to the management & impersonal care; however, Courtyards in general aren't bad. They were bought out by an Australian company & the effects of that are starting to reach the centers (not good effects).

The best Courtyard is the lab school on Edmonds. It is attached to the district office & is the "trainer" school. It is excellent - very different from most other Courtyards in level of care.

Good luck!
