The Best Bras?

Hi Moms - I'm sure you can all identify with "the girls" shifting after pregnancy. I breastfed for 2.5 years - I was a C, but not sure what I am now. None of my bras fit well anymore. I'd really like to get fitted correctly instead of playing the guessing game with correct sizing. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on my chest (LOL).

Can anyone recommend bras that they've found most comfortable, supportive, etc, and a place to get a fitting?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

i personally love the brand JMS (just my size) and are very reasonable. Thought im a 42dd....so a bit harder to find right fit.
But ive shopped and shopped and tried several different stores.
Its a cross betweeen regular and sport bra, very comfortable but holds me in good with out squishing.

Soma is the best. The ladies there will help you get fitted correctly. I love the Rachel bra. It has extra padding in the shoulders and is so comfortable. There prices are great too. They always have coupons and they keep track of them on there computers so you don't have to keep track of them!!! Once you spend 500$ between them and Chico's you get 5% off everything forever. They also do free shipping once you reach this. The other thing I will say is there bras last. I have not had to replace a single bra due to wear and tear and I have some that are 3+ years old (and I only have 4 that I wear daily) so your getting a good product!
check them out.

I second Heidi's suggestion about going to Soma! They have cute stuff, will measure you properly, but have things that fit a post-breastfeeding body. =) I had been wearing a 40C and they measured me and told me I was a 36DD! Who knew! Well, once I started wearing the right size, I looked and felt so much better. At Soma they will keep your sizes and wish list in their computer so if your hubby needs gift suggestions, he can go there and buy things that will FIT and that you LIKE! Yay!

I went to Victoria's Secret a couple years ago and I was a hair bigger than a C at the time. They don't carry anything larger than a C cup. I would call before going there. Good luck, I can identify with you, in high school until a couple years ago I was a C, now I am a G after nursing (and gaining a little weight of course lol) I hope you are able to find a good fit!!

Any good lingerie department should have someone who does bra fittings, but I'd recommend a high end store for the most qualified people.

Personally, I prefer wearing sports bras these days. 34 B prepregnancy, and somewhere between 34B-C post kids. I love Under Armor's nylon bras - my husband hates the "uniboob", but they are most comfortable to me.

Oprah always does the bra interventions on her show - perhaps see if there's any advice on her website.

You definetly need to get measured. Any of the major deparment stores, (JC Penny, Macy's, Sears), have associates who will help you. Next comes the worst part, try on lots of different styles. In the fitting room, bounce up and down, twist and turn, and get a feel how it will work with your day to day lifestyle. Only buy one of each style. After trying it out for a few weeks at home, wait for a sale or buy on-line to stock up.

If your a C cup or larger you'll want a bra that has at least 3 hooks in the back for better support.

Personally, I like to go to the Hanes, Bali outlet if you have one near you. I've always found that playtex to be a good brand. For online shopping www.jms.com.

I had mine done at Nordstrom and wow, was I off! Very smart to get a fitting because I think you'll be surprised. I was wearing a 36C and was actually a 32DDD! Who knew I was a crazy rare size? Because such a limited number of brands carry my size, I have to pay premium prices ($70 plus) for mine and do best with Natori right now.

I love the Calvin Klein "perfectly fit" bras.
I got it from Nordstrom, and they are very helpful with fit and advice.
I only buy these now. My Hubby said it looks much better as well, under my clothing.
I have the 'strapless' model. Because I hate bra straps. I have each color.
I am a "c" cup.

good luck,
Susan

Strong 2nd for Nordstroms having the best fitters I've ever come across.

They also have a WIDE variety of sizes... their infrequent sizes they keep in back. I don't even bother to look around anymore. I just walk in and ask for every 36DDDD, underwire demi they have and get between 20-40 options delivered to my door. Just post nursing I was a 38DDD (during nursing I was anime girl -we're talking i's & j's.... so there was a lot of deflate afterward. Over the past couple years the girls have actually plumped up a bit as I've lost weight. Go figure.
