Teething/Sleeping

Hi, my son is 15 weeks old is BF with occasional formula and he sleeps in a co-sleeper next to our bed. I can see that he has two top front teeth pushing through his gums. He started drooling a LOT a week ago and although he was never one of those babies that slept a ton I was at least getting 3 to 4 hours at a time. The past few days he has gotten increasingly fussier, screaming crying (he isn't a cryer) difficult to soothe and waking up pretty much every hour throughout the night and nursing falling asleep on me and if I pull my nipple out he wakes up and cries until he finds it again. Could all this be because he is teething? Is it a growth spurt? He also has a little diarrhea. I am so tired and just want him to be more comfortable and happy. Any advice???

Hi E. -
I'm not sure if he is teething, however if that is the reason for all of the fussiness I would highly recommend Humphries Teething Tablets. I think you can get them most anywhere that carries teething products (i.e. Walgreens, Target, etc). You dissolve them in a tsp. of water and then rub them on their gums. What a lifesaver it was with my daughter! It was the only thing that helped calm her when she was teething.
Good Luck!!

Hello, Try teething tablets. They seem to relieve the pain and help babies to rest better.
Good luck with your precious little boy.

Liquid calcium and homeopathic Calms Forte 4 kids, even more than the teething tablets helped us. We use Bluebonnet or Lifetime blueberry flavored calmag. We give ti to our kids 4-6 times each ____@____.com more growing pains, they sleep through the night AND the pain with teething either stops or diminishes significantly. My friends can't believe the difference in their kids.

It sounds like teething, alright. Poor little guy! Try the Hylands teething tablets, they also make a gel for the gums that you can rub directly on them.

It sounds like teething to me. The drooling, fussiness, diarrhea (he could even get a little fever)....and he could also be going thru a growth spurt on top of everything. These little people have so much going on!!!! I would try cold things like frozen mango, cooked sweet potatoe, or banana in a pasi-food pouch thing, Hyland teething tabs and some of the gel too. If it is really bad, baby oragel (sp) or motrin (obviously check with Dr. for dosage). There are a lot of home remidies..Oh yea, the frozen washcloth...my son would munch on those till they were thawed out. Loved 'em! My son would chew mynipples raw. Good luck and if it doesnt go away in a few days, check with you Dr. Something else could be going on if it lasts, or doesn't improve shortly (week or so). Good luck and hang in there!
