Hello mamas, Could it be possible that my little guy could be getting his molars in at 10 mos old? He already has his top 4 and his bottom 4, & now he's showing signs of teething again. He seems to be teething worse than his very 1st 2 teeth also. He's extremely cranky, slight loss of appetite (only to solids), waking a few times @ night again, & rubbing his mouth like it hurts. These are the exact same signs he showed when all his other teeth came in but he seems a little more cranky. I read up on teething & everything I read said he shouldn't get his molars in until about 2 years old, but he also got his other teeth in way earlier than he should have. Has anyone else's babies got their molars in this early?
Hi L.. Its definitely possible. My daughter had all four molars out by her first birthday. She already has one of her 2 year teeth, one half way out, and two that broke gums. And she is about to turn 14 months on the 10th of January.
So i would say yes, especially because he has that many teeth out already.

hes teething... they have 2 sets of molars that come in 1 year molars and 2 year molars. hes probably getting his first set. molars are very painfull to get in because they are sooo big.maybe try some baby tylenol or motrin for pain. what helps my daughter a lot was the gentle naturals teething drops :).. good luck this will pass soon.
Have you looked in his mouth?
If he has any white patches in his mouth, it could be "Thrush." Thrush makes them uncomfortable in the mouth, much like teething...and it causes pain. You have to then take him to the Doctor for treatment.
If anything, check with your Pediatrician about this.
My son, before he was 2 years old, got ALL his teeth already including molars. But your son is only 10 months old... so I don't know. There are always exceptions to the rules.
Just make sure that he does not get dehydrated. And besides, for the first year of life, breastmilk/formula is a baby's PRIMARY source of nutrition... not solids. So, if he is having trouble "eating"... just make sure he is nursing/drinking his formula etc.
I would just confirm and make sure it is his "teething" before you use anything over the counter on him, for teething. If it is not teething... then perhaps he is ill or something?

Like Jacy said, they have 2 sets of molars and this could be his first set coming in. What helped my daughter was putting a damp washcloth in the freezer for her to chew on (have a few ready since they thaw out quickly!)

PS- you never mentioned anything about his canines, does he have those yet? Could be those are the ones coming in now too....
Kind of early to start the molars...but, nothing is impossible. But, I agree with Susan check to make sure he is teething, and not something else. My Godson, used to get awful canker sores in his mouth and still teething.
I would check with his Pedi first.
