Tea Cabinet

So I've seen a few ladies on here refer to their "tea cabinet" and am wondering what kind of teas you have. I don''t drink much tea (unless it's the sweet variety - iced) but would like to broaden my horizons :-) So what are your favorites & how do you make them? I know this is a silly, trivial thing but hey - isn't tea supposed to calm the nerves? Thanks for the input.

What can I do next?

I love African Rooibos tea. It's sweet. I add a little honey. It's decaf and called RED TEA in the grocery......Celestial (A lion on the box). It has antioxidants and is supposed to be soothing.

I also like chamomile, caff free, and it is relaxing. It's supposed to help with anxiety, among other things.

I love tea and it has 1/2 or less the caffiene of coffee. I start the day with strongly brewed Black tea with honey. Later in the day I like Chai with milk/honey, or cinnamon tea (Good Earth brand), or peppermint. Those are what are on my tea shelf right now.

I have a whistling tea pot on the stove and just pour hot water over the bag in the cup and let brew for as long as you like (the longer the stronger). You can buy loose leaf tea and just use a tea ball or a strainer, but I like the simplicity of using bags. Some black teas will get bitter with too much brewing, so I've tried several kinds to find one I like brewed strong. There are specialty tea shops, but I'm on a limited budget and don't want to make that a habit. Lipton Black Pearl is one I can buy at Target and I like it.

Our family drinks a lot of tea.
When our daughter left for college, I made her a tea box with all of our favorite teas.. She is the parson her friends call when they do not feel well.. She makes them a pot of tea and they feel better.
Our daughter even gave us a "Russell Hobbs" electric pot It has a a pot to boil the water and a pot to infuse the tea and keep it warm.

Chamomile for cramps
Mint for upset tummy
Celestial Seasons for "Sleepy Time"
Celestial "Sleepytime Throat Tamer"
"Sleepytime Sinus Soother"
Wellness Tea
Wellness Tea
Yogi "Detox" to clean out your system (constipation)

We adore Jasmine, Oolong, Earl Grey, Princess Grey

I make Iced tea (we do not many drink sodas) with 3 regular bags of "orange Pekoe" (Lipton) and 1 bag of Republic of Tea "Ginger Peach". Place the bags in a pitcher, pour 1 quart boiled water and let sit for 3 minutes.. Add 1 quart cold water. If you want it sweet add 1/4 cup sugar to the pitcher and stir.

If you can find a tea shop, they can also suggest other teas and may even mix teas for your taste.

I always use a tea pot, never a microwave. I buy peppermint tea, fennel tea and black tea.... and green tea on occasion, but not really. I also take my black tea decaf as too much caffeine upsets my stomach.

I love tea. My favorite is Bentley's Raspberry Green tea.
But I also love the loose leaf teas from Teavana. My favorite from them is Mate Vana and My Morning Mate tea. If you drink coffee this helps kick the coffee habit. I also like any fruit variety teas. I buy Celestial sampler that has different fruit teas for my daughter.
I give it to her sweetened with honey in the winter. It's caffeine free and honey soothes coughs.

Jamine tea from the Asian market...with a little honey. In fact, that is what I am drinking right now. It soothes me and when I am catching a cold (like I feel now) it makes me feel better.

I also like
green tea with honey
decaf Earl Grey with cream and sugar
peppermint tea with honey
Oh, and a friend once gave me a canister of chocolate mint tea that was divine.

Happy brewing!!!

Earl Grey, Blueberry, Raspberry Pomegranite, Tangerine Orange, French Vanilla, Jasmine Green Tea, Mint, Black Tea, and Ginger are some of my favorites. Most of these can be found at your local Supermarket.

I sweeten my teas with either brown sugar or honey. Each sweetener lends a different flavor to the tea experience. Boil your water on the stove and give your tea an opportunity to steep (sit in the water for a time) so the full flavor of the tea can come forth.

Enjoy your tea time.

Personally I only drink Lipton Tea, hot or cold. I can not stand sweet tea. But my daughter is really into her tea's. She goes to the tea store at the Brandon Mall to get them. I know the blooming tea is very expensive and one of her favorites. Chai tea is very good and I have even tried it and liked it. She has three or four different kinds in their fancy cans. I do like a green tea that I found at a health food store but have never been able to find it since. But regular tea is my favorite.
