Ok we are heading to Lincoln NE this weekend for the Nebraska vs. Ohio State football game and we will be tailgating all day. I need to bring some side dishes and snacks that don't require refrigeration or heating. I am not having any luck coming up with anything. We will be in a parking lot and I am not sure how many if any outlets there are. I just want to be able to bring somthing and put it out and not have to worry about it. Plus the cooler will be full of drinks. I plan on making pretzel turtles but that is all I can think of that is not just your normal chips and salsa or cheese and crackers. Any ideas would be SO appreciated.

What can I do next?

Ok - So many options....

Have you ever made a homemade chex mix??

How about a Tomato Foccata. We make a big jelly roll pan of it and it packs well and does not need to be cool.

Of course we have a plug in cooler which helps so we can bring dips, simple veggy pizza, tortillas roll-up.

All easy to make finger foods.

Great recipes on the web!! Have Fun! Tailgating is a BLAST!

I second Sam I Am, Go Bucks! Sorry, born and raised an hour from Columbus here. :)

I think the stuffed jalapenos sound yummy. what about a bean dip and chips? For Thanksgiving my Grandma makes this 7 layer bean dip with all kinds of junk on it, everyone loves it. We eat it with Fritos.
Why can't you reheat or keep anything cold? What about a cooler with ice if you don't have access to a fridge?

We tailgated recently with a group of friends when we took our daughters to see Taylor Swift. We all pitched in a brought goodies for the day. We had fruit kabobs, veggies with dip, chips/pretzels, brownies, pizza, sub sandwiches, juice boxes, water and adult beverages. All food was stored in a separate cooler(except for pizza as it was in boxes from when we ordered it...left over pizza could be placed in cooler.) Plus traditional tailgating games for while we waited. Food choices were simple yet filling and there was plenty for everyone!

Have fun!

I make stuffed jalapenos that are great hot or room temperature. You can also do hoagie dip, pasta salad with chopped up meats, cheeses, broccoli, cherry tomatoes & Italian dressing, or pretty much anything dessert-y.

PM me if you want any actual recipes!

1st have to say Go Ohio State, hehehe.. sorry now that I got that out.

How about popcorn, veggie dish, fruit bowl, pasta salad, potato salad, coleslaw, beans?

Sometimes it is nice to have a "refreshing" side when at these events.

Have fun!!
