Anyone familiar or live in SUWANEE that is willing to answer 1000 :) questions for me. me and my family are moving to suwanee in august. not sure exactly where yet. we are driving over in march to look around. do you mind telling me some pros and cons to each area. i know nothing about suwanee...which as a mom is making me anxious. my husband will be attending PCOM for medical school and i am finishing my degree as a nurse practitioner. we also have an 11 month old little girl and considering trying to have another one in the near future. with that being said...do you recommend any ob/gyn, pediatricians, etc? any recommendations on good clean safe childcare? do you have any suggestions for a new baby..like women who keep small children at home or would be willing to come to my home? do you recommend any churches?sorry for all of the questions. Thanks for any help/advice you can give to this momma :)

What can I do next?

We moved to Suwanee 2 years ago and are very happy. Suwanee is a great area and one of the best and/or fastest growing in the country (I forget which). When looking for a house, try to find one in the Forsyth County section vs Gwinnett as the schools are much better and the taxes much lower. This area is near Old Atlanta Road and it is very centralized to both 400 and 85 (main highways to the city). We still go to doctors near our old house (closer to the city) so unfortunately I can't help there. Best of luck with your move!

Another vote for Forsyth County lower taxes and better schools (I've lived in both and prefer Forsyth). If you end up in Forsyth county I would recommend North Point OB/GYN. It's a great practice, very knowledgable and experienced doctors. There are three doctors in the practice and several midwives. I would recomend Dr. Siegel (1st choice) and Dr. Barrett (a close 2nd). There main office is in Forsyth county at Northside Hospital-Forsyth. Here's a link to their website: http://www.npobgyn.com You can read some of their reviews at: www.kudzu.com (this is a great local resource) and at www.healthgrades.com For a pediatrician I'd recommend Primary Care Pediatrics (http://www.primarycarepediatrics.com), there is just one doctor, but she's good (we tried 3 before we found her). She is experienced and very knowledgable. I've never had trouble getting an appointment and she or a nurse is always available by phone. There are tons of churches in this area. What denomination are you looking for and what size church do you prefer? Another resource you may what to use is www.city-data.com (click visit forum then register and search gwinnett county, forsyth county, suwanee, cumming-that is the main city of forsyth county-and anything else you think of). This site is full of information so don't just use the forum, but I like it because you can ask questions and read what others have written about a particular area in the that section. Good Luck with your move.

Hello~ Suwanee is a large area. Do you know what part you're looking into?
I'm in the John's Creek area. Besides the road construction, a great place to live.

Congratulations! You're going to love living here. I agree with Beth that you should concentrate your search in the Forsyth portion of Suwanee for both tax and school reasons. Johns Creek is a town right next to Suwanee and the OB/GYN I'd recommend is located there. Her name is Kirsten Franklin and is a part of a great practice (I delivered by son with this practice). They have many mid-wives too.

Once I was traveling with my daughter (then about 3 yo, pregnant with my son) to visit my husband at a work function on the west coast. While in the airport I started to bleed so I called the Dr.'s office. They took incredible care of me and I was on a plane later that day.

If you aren't already working with a Realtor I'd love the opportunity to speak with you live. I'm a Realtor and have lived in Alpharetta (very close to Suwanee) for over 11 years.

Once you live here you won't want to leave (like Renee said in her answer). We lived in NY and then LA and now we hope to stay here for the long haul. It's a great place to bring up a family.

Hope to hear from you.
My best,
L.
