Suggestions on Strollers for Twins in January and a 21 Month Old

I was wondering if anyone had any input on the best type of stroller to buy for twins and a 21 month old. I am considering all styles because I have no idea. I heard the tandom strollers are hard to steer but the side by side don't fit through aisles at stores. I am aware that the babies will be in their infant carriers until 6 months or so , which means I have to get something that has attachments for all carriers. I am also torn between getting a triple tandom or maybe a double with a toddler seat. My toddler is still big on taking naps. I also know that Valco has a side by side with a toddler chair that sits on top. I would appreciate any suggestions that can be given to help me make a desicion.

What can I do next?

The valco double with the toddler seat will be perfect! I loved it for three little ones, it is EXPENSIVE- but worth it!

I have the Valco Baby side by side with the toddler seat. I bought it when my twins were 4 months old and my older son was just 2. It was the best investment I could have made. It's not cheap, but it has made getting out a lot easier. There are some stores where I can't get through the door, but surprisingly, I can get it in most stores. They say it's easy to fold and put in the back of the car, but I've not done that. My twins are now 2 and my son is almost 4. It's getting a lot harder to push, especially with all 3 in it, but it's served me well for almost 2 years. Good luck.

I wish I could remember the brand name, but my sister-in-law has a wonderful 3 person stroller. She has a home day care and used it with 3 two year olds, but I'm pretty sure you can put a car seat in it too. It's red, and all 3 are in a row; not tandom. The seats also kind of flip around to face different directions and recline as well. It's great at steering. Hope that's helpful!

I have the Peg Perego Aria side by side. It is extremely light! I put my twins right in it as soon as they were born, I didn't feel the need to have a stroller that I could attach the car seats to... I never liked keeping them in their car seats for long periods of time. When my third came along 17 mo later, he went in a baby carrier for a while which you could do too. Put the toddler and one baby in the stroller and one baby in a sling or bjorn. After a while, I would put two kids in the stroller, and one of the older ones would stand on the under carriage and hold on to the push bar. They thought this was great! My twins are now four, and the little guy is 3 and we don't use it as much anymore but if we go somewhere like the zoo we will bring it along. We will sit them three across, one sits on the bar that separates the seats and think this is great as well.

I have never had trouble getting through stores or doors with my stroller. I would never get a triple stroller.

We love our Graco, not sure what its called... It is red, and has two seats that can face either way, a big storage bin underneith and handles on the side for the walker. Your oldest may not be old enough for this right now, but It is one to check out (babys r us). It drives really nice and I love that the seats can face each other - or me - Good luck!!!

I have a graco quattro tour duo stroller. My DD was 34 months when my twins were born. Online I was interested in the fact that the front seat is rated for 50lbs and the bar that will hold an infant seat removes so she could climb in and out herself. The stroller holds 2 infant carseats. When DD needs a ride, I strap one of the twins on in a snuggli carrier. There's a huge basket underneath, cup holders for them and me. It has a tight turning radius so I can make tight turns like in the docs office. The seats are also stadium seating so the twin in the back can see too. WE love it.

I did look into the Jovy double with the tandem seat for a toddler but DD was already wanting to walk like a big girl so I didn't think she'd use it much anyway.

Off topic but your local multiples group will have lots more tips for you and mine has a great resale for all kinds of twin stuff. Not sure of your location but here's the website for the one I belong too www.clustersmoms.net Good luck!

I'm expecting twins in Jan-Feb also and would be very interested in what you decide to do. I purchased a side by side over the summer at a twins sale, but another twin mother told me she preferred snapping the carseats onto a stroller frame. I don't know the brand names, but would like to find out. The frame idea makes sense to me.

I don't know if you live around the nw suburbs.. but I have a Graco Quattro Deo double stroller. It is the newest model. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2718786
That is the website to check it out.. but mine is black and silver. It goes for 249. I am selling mine and asking for 150 obo. I want to purchase a sit and stand now that my youngest daughter will be 2. It has been a great stroller, but not used as much as I thought. So it is in almost brand new condition. It holds 2 infant carriers and then take out bar to make snack holders. Let me know if you are interested in. My email is ____@____.com Jen
