I am in the process of exploring potential preschools for my little man who will be 4 in August. I am hoping some mommas out there can share there experiences on what to look for and what to be weary of and also any suggestions for preschools in my area. I am only looking for the two days a week like 9 -12.
Thanks

The only place I have found that is an actual pre-school, not an in-home daycare to do half days, is the TCC Child Development lab. It is at the VA Beach campus of TCC. My daughter loves it! She goes Tuesday Thursday 9-1. I pay a little over $200 a month. You can also do from 9-12 and it is cheaper, but for my schedule it works better for us to have her eat lunch there. You can also do Monday Wednesday Friday, or all 5 days. But they are only open from 9-1, and I believe thy are closed over the summer semester. Good luck!

I don't know if they have it in your area - but I took my kids to Kindercare starting when they turned 4. They are about to turn 5, so they have been there a full year. It has a fantastic pre-K program, and they offer full day, part day, and anywhere from 2 to 5 days per week. Their program has good academics - my kids already knew their ABCs before they started but learned phonics there, and also basic life concepts like how to read a map, the names of the planets, what different tools are used for, types of transportation. And of course they do lots of songs, arts & crafts, circle time and play time. I think it is a very well rounded program and definitely recommend it.

My son goes to Mother's Day Out and loves it. He's 4 and does a two day a week program. In the fall he'll go 3 days a week. It runs from 9:30 to 1:00. I think it's an awesome program.
