I am 16 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child. I delivered my first in Rockdale. We currently moved to Lawrenceville area and tried a new doc b/c of the drive. Long story short, i am beyond disappointed with the current practice i go to. I have been there 3 times and since visit 1 didn't get a good vibe. The WNP seemed to rush thru everything and didn't seem to care about weight/health/or anything like my 1st doc. I don't want to go back to this practice again. Should i make the drive back to rockdale to see my previous OB (which was fantastic) or anyone have any advice on a SMALL practice in Lawrenceville area??? Suggestions

What can I do next?

I'd go to the one I was comfortable with. I switched OB's after I went and the doctor was all "so, what are we here for today?" Like, I knew! I was newly prego, they told me I had to make regular appts, and he couldnt even bring himself to read the chart? I never went back and the new practice I found is much better.

I think it is crucial to have a good OB, even for a drive - totally worth it. I would use your old OB or find a highly recommended one in the area. We changed practices at 36 weeks with my first and it was the BEST decision I made. Good luck!

If it were me, I'd make the drive. I drove 35 minutes to a great OB when I had one just 10 minutes from me. The drive was way worth it!!! The 10 minute OB had to refer me to the 35 minute OB and wouldn't. I had to bug them over and over. They finally sent the referral and it was worth it!!

I don't know what the distance is but if you're more comfortable with the previous practitioner, then it may be well worth the time and trouble to continue with them.

I live in Chicago and used to live downtown. I still live in the city but moved to the south side (19 miles or a 45-minute drive on a good day). I continue to see both my primary care physician and ob/gyn whose practices are located downtown because I think they're absolutely awesome. Is it a pain in the butt? Yes, but worth it because they're *that* good IMO.
