Has anyone used a Shark Steam Mop? I saw two at Target; one was about $80, the other $120. Do they work on peel and stick tiles? Is it worth the $?

I have a bissel ,
I use on my hardwood floors which works great , plus it smells so good afterwards.

I have tiles , and use a separate attachment for them.

I love it but use it only every few months.

I got mine for Christmas. I love it. It works great on the stick tiles. I was worried at first about it too. No worries. I like it cause it santitizes the floor, dries very quickly and doesn't leave the floor feeling sticky. No chemicals which are bad for kids and pets. If you have a very sticky or ground in spot on the floor this takes it up very nicely. I have 2 cats that are slobs when the eat. The can food gets stuck on the floor and hard to get up with a mop. The steamer takes it right up. I have to go over it a few times but comes right off. Also great in the winter when you track in salt from the driveway. A mop would take me quite a few tries before getting it to come clean. The steamer... one try and it's gone. It takes time to get used too though. I love it and use it all the time and feel better that my floors are cleaner since my daughter spends alot of time on the kitchen floor playing. Clean up is a snap too. Just throw the pad in the wash and let it air dry. DO NOT PUT IN DRYER!!!

I have been looking at these for months...and still have not purchased one. I don't particularly care for the shark. The reason...it works on pumping the handle to make steam. So it only makes steam while your pushing it forward. There are others that have better options. Check out epinions.com.

I have the Shark Steam Mop. I got it for Mother's Day last year. I always used the Swiffer Wet Jet, but was not a fan of buying the expensive refills, and I didnt like the chemical residue left on my floors.

Regarding what another poster said about the pumping action of the steam, that is true. It took some getting used to. Its a different sorta "rhythm." But now I dont even notice. And when he have a stubborn sticky spot you can really pump over that one spot until the pad lifts it up.

I really like my mop. I use it all them time. We have the peel and stick floors, and it does a great job. It leaves the floor clean, and without being sticky or dull.

I do have two complaints. The first is that the mop only goes forward and back. You cant mop side to side. That took a little getting used to.
The second is the pads cannot go into the dryer. If you do, they shrink a bit, and no longer fit...And arent very effective. I had to buy refills since I ruined my first set. And the second set has lasted me just about a year now. I've been taking better care of them.

Anyway, hoped that helped. :)
