Hey Everyone,

Last night my daughter came home with a note stating next week is teacher appreciate week so of course my creative juices started working but I am at a stand still and need some ideas from other moms. I like to do a theme with things for some reason so since it's a week long thing I wanted to try and do a little something everyday. So here's what I have come up with and if you can think of anything else please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated.

Monday-Muffin Monday- I am going to send a basket full of muffins
Tuesday-Treat Tuesday
Wednesday-?
Thursday-Thankful Thursday-Thinking home made thank you card with a name picture frame.
Friday-Flower Friday- I am going to make an arrangement of flowers with my daughter for her teacher. I have some cute little plastic vases and I am going to attach a note saying something like-In recogniton of teacher appreciation week this final day has been noted as Flower Friday etc..

If you could help me come up with some creative stuff to do on the days I am still pondering on that would be great.

Thanks in Advance!

Mamasource is so GREAT!

How about Tool Tuesday and send in some teacher's tools like cool pens, post it notes, etc. or a gift card to an office supply store like Office Depot / Staples or a teacher store.

Maybe Thirsty Thursday and send in a bottle of her favorite drink or a coffee mug with a Starbucks gift card if she's a coffee drinker.

Wednesday? That's a tough one . . . Maybe Wasted Calorie Wednesday and send in some of the teacher's favorite junk food like candy, microwave popcorn, chips, etc.

I sent a note home requesting the following items for my son's teacher:
Monday:"Flower Day" Everyone bring in a flower(fresh or made from crepe paper)I will provide a vase for the students to fill.
Tuesday:"Movie Night" I have some movie passes for the teacher and I will have a basket in the room for the students to fill with fun candy, popcorn and sodas
Wednesday:"Shopping and Dinner": We will give a gift card to her favorite store along with a restaurant gift card
Thursday:"Pamper Yourself": Students will bring in bath soaps, body sprays, scented candles and bath salts to fill a basket
Friday:"Class Party": We will have a short party at the end of the day and I will provide some snacks and refreshments and we will present the teacher with indivdual gifts along with a scrapbook I am making for her

In addition to the above things I will bring in muffins and coffee Monday morning and then we are having a luncheon for all of the second grade teachers complete with a massage for each teacher. As an individual gift from my son I had him make her a card and he baught some of her favorite candies and then I am giving her a GC to a restaurant and a GC for a massage.

How about some cute nail files one day-tied with a pretty bow. Then the next day a colorful color of nail polish. One day a nice chocolate bar-one of those that costs about 2.00 from Switzerland you can find in the grocery aisle. Another day a scented votive candle tied with pretty tissue and ribbon. I find that often its not the cost of an item-its the thought and the presentation.

Our school is doing themes- school wide. Here are ours.

Monday- Holiday
Tuesday- Wear teachers favorite color
Wednesday- Have child bring a thnak you note to their teacher
Thursday- Bring a flower
Friday- Bring teachers favorite snack

I know they are not that exciting, but it may spark an idea. Michaels and Hobby Lobby carry the coffee mugs that have inserts you cut take out and your DD can decorate. They are like 1-2 dollars, and make a great gift. For my prescool DD, we are sending the "fancy" candy as a previous post said and flowers on another day. Good luck. Im sure your teacher will appreciate anything you do.

C.,

Our school's PTA gave us some guidelines. Our schedule fr the week is as follows:

Monday - bring a flower for the teacher (one from the garden is fine) to make a bouquet.

Tuesday - have your child write a letter of appreciation to bring to the teacher.

Wednsday - The PTA is providing lunch for the teachers

Thursday - Restock the classroom. Each student will bring a school supply (Post -Its, pens, markers, etc) for the teacher

Friday - Gift certificate. The students bring donations to be given to the room parent, who purchases a gift certiicate to be presented to the teacher from the class.

I am trying to think what we did. Here is some ideas:
How about a hand written note or picture from your daughter.
Or a basket full things she needs like band aids, lotion, chap stick, gum or breath mints, post it notes.
We even sent in bottled water on day so they don't have to spend their money on buying it.

Have fun!

You have lots of good ideas already, but here's another. What about a gift of scented bubble bath one day? So after a long day with kids, she can go home and let Calgon take her away...
