Hi, I am planning.. our spring break plans.. yes already... and wanted to know, if anyone had any super suggestions, about a nice, family spot, with some luxuries. Kids club.. several pools.. etc. Weve stayed at several nice places, and usually just rent a nice condo.. but this year everyone will be old enough to participate in an activity, while possibly "mom and dad".. are alone...??!!
thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi. My husband, 17-month-old daughter and I stayed at the Melia Azul Ixtapa, Mexico last March, and thought it was fantastic. They had two huge pools on different levels, hot tubs, a baby pool, and a kid's pool with fountains & slides. They also have two different kids clubs - one for two to five I think, and one for the older kids featuring Fred Flinstone. It was hugely family friendly and we thought the service was great. We definitely look forward to going back when our daughter is older. Good Luck!

I just recently went to a place called Kalaharia, location in Wisconsin. I am not suree if that something you are looking to do, but my family really enjoyed. They have indoor swimming, gameroom, and various activites for children. They have spa's and other activities for you and your husvand.

My boyfriend and I just took our 2 year old daughter on a Disney Cruise. It was fantastic. They have tons and tons of activities for the kids and you can even leave them there all day while you go off the boat. (We didn't do that, but I had a friend that did) There activities and activity leaders that are geared for all ages and the child care workers to child ratio was fantastic. I was kinda leary about leaving my 2 year old, but she actually woke up asking to go back each morning. It seemed kinda expensive but when you consider it is all inclusive, its not so expensive. We would have spent so much more if we would have tried to go somewhere else.

Fun for the whole family, and you can stay on the lake in a condo, or in the hotel.......which also has a spa. They have kids activities daily!
We went last year and are going again in October.

Our family had a great time at Club Med Ixtapa, MX. I have also heard really good things about the ones in Florida (Sandpiper)and in Punta Cana, DR. They had awesome kids clubs. And the family club meds are soooo family, that you never have to worry about your kids acting inappropriately...ever. The restaurants are super kid friendly and the staff was super. I loved it and will for sure go back again. This year I am thinking Punta Cana.

I didn't think they were too outrageously priced, but I am sure you could find something closer to home for cheaper. The biggest bummer is that they are always a bit hard to get to from O'Hare, difficult to find a direct flight. And unless you go to Sandpiper, all your kids will need passports (even for Mexico in 2007).

I am a busy SAHM with a 2 1/2 y.o. and 17 month old, so I know what you mean about looking for some options with "mom and dad" alone time!

I'm planning on taking the kids to the wisconsin dells for spring break this year. They have lots of hotels with indoor water parks and planned activities for the kids plus plenty to do outside the hotels.
