Sore Breast - Fresno,CA

Has anyone ever experienced a pain in the breast that feels like a bruise to the touch. It's not near the nipple. There's no lump. No swelling and no color change to my skin. I can't explain it. I thought it could be a clogged glan or something. I've been nursing for 1 year as of yesterday and the pain started yesterday...how ironic. It doesn't hurt when my daughter nurses. It only hurts if it bumps my bra or if I touch it, just like a bruise would feel.

I did find out Saturday that I'm 5 weeks pregnant. Could that have anything to do with it?
Any idea???

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I want to thank everyone for their help. I went to my OB today. She agreed that it is probably due to the pregnancy. Today I feel fine. The soreness went away. She did tell me she wants me to wean my baby right away because she is taking away nutrition from the baby growing inside me. I kind of find that a little untrue. A lot of people nurse while pregnant. hummm

Anyhow, I will wean because I think it will help my daughter in daycare. I plan to sign her up soon.

Thanks again.

T.,

Congratulations on the new little one coming! The pain is most likely from being newly pregnant. Hormones can hurt like crazy! Take it easy and try not worry about it.

Congradulations and yes that is why your breast hurts. You probably just don't rember that they hurt with your first since you were not breast feeding then. Just curious are you weaning your first or are you going to keep breast feeding while you are pregant? I would like to if i can but i don't know and i am not pregnat yet.

Hi T.,
My breasts became VERY tender and bruised feeling when I was first pregnant. It almost felt like a pulled muscle. In fact, the painful breasts made me think to take a test! Congrats on the new pregnancy!

Congratulations!!

Yes it is probably from the pregnancy. I was in agony for about 4 weeks and if the AC kicked on it was so much worse. Hang in there and good luck with baby #3.
