My daughter is three months old and she wakes up 2 or 3 times a night. Does anyone have any tips on what I may be able to do to help her sleep. I know she is still young so maybe I am just rushing things but my oldest slept through the night after a month (i was lucky I know)

What can I do next?

Yes, you are rushing her. Just be patient. She still needs to be waking up for feedings. In fact, my 6 month old still wakes twice a night for feedings because he is just a hungry kid.

My oldest slept thru the night at 12 mos.
My middle, at 4 mos.
This baby, still needs those night time feedings. Every child is different, but she is too young to expect a full night's sleep.

You are rushing things. Every kid is different. I have a friend with 4 kids and one of them didn't sleep through till he was over 4 years old. My own son is like that. I'm going to have a party when he sleeps through for more than a week in a row!

I agree with the others...it's probably too soon for her. She may still be waking up because she's hungry. My daughter who is four still wakes up at night and my son who is 2 has slept through the night for about a year. Every kid is different. I think you were super lucky the first time around :)

That's pretty average. Too early to sleep train. Maybe in 3 months you can sleep train, but before then they just do what they want to do. You were really lucky with the first. Mine didn't sleep 6-7hrs until 5 months.

Yup, rushing things. Babies will sleep through the night when they're ready and the only thing you can do is have patience. Good luck!

You were lucky with your first! Our son didn't sleep past 5 hour stretches until 11 months old. Some kids do and some don't. Good luck!

It helped me to put my daughters down very early (6pm). For some reason, babies' brains seem to be wired differently than ours, and it is easier for them to fall asleep and stay asleep if they're put down a lot earlier. That, and don't let her fall asleep nursing (or taking a bottle). Make sure she eats a big, full meal maybe a half hour before you put her down for the night. When you put her down, she should be awake but calm. This way, she learns how to fall asleep on her own, and if she wakes up in the night, she will know how to get herself back to sleep without your intervention. It's normal for babies to wake up at night, and you shouldn't intervene unless they seem distressed (actively crying, sounding hungry or scared). I hope you find something that helps! Good luck!

My daughter woke up to nurse 2 times a night until she was 11 months, and then once a night until 13 months. This is perfectly normal. She is sleeping just fine. Some babies wake up every 2 hours. Your first was the not-so-normal one!

Have you tried swaddling? Both of my girls were sleeping through the night at 5 weeks old. My youngest is 12 weeks old and sleeps from 9pm to 9am. She fusses when I first put her in the swaddle but settles down very quickly.

Most kids don't sleep through the night until much later. If you had one that slept through the night that young before you were extremely lucky with her. Most need to eat at least every 3-4 hours.

Sounds about right. Hang in there. I bet a 4 months you'll see even more improvement through the night.
