I really don't like clothes shopping, but I'll be helping out at a memorial service reception for one of hubby's relatives and need to find something appropriate to wear. I'm a size 8 petite and since I rarely buy clothes, my ideal outfit would be something classic/conservatively styled, decent quality, and moderately priced. Maybe a bit nicer than Target but definitely not in the Nordstrom range. Any suggestions of where to shop - either in the Lamorinda/Walnut Creek area or Emeryville/El Cerrito?
What about McCaulou's Department Store? They have locations in Lafayette, Orinda, Montclair Village and Walnut Creek. And they usually have a lot on sale. http://www.mccaulous.com/
I agree about Ann Taylor Loft. They have great slacks that you could pair with a sweater set or pretty blouse for the memorial.
Ann Taylor Loft is a great choice - they have petites, styling right, quality right, price right.
go to Ross at el cerrito plaza. try to go at a slow time to avoid long lines.

Kohls and Penneys both have a decent petite section. There items are usually reasonablly priced and many times on sale. Of course you can try Marshall's, Ross, and/or TJ Maxx also but I think you will find a better selection at Kohls or Penneys. All 5 places I just mentioned are in Pleasant Hill which is just a little further north than Walnut Creek.
