Yesterday I was at my birth mothers house it was her birth day. I was holding my nephew and my right arm started to twitch and all the way down to my hand. I did have gestational diabetes when I was pregnant with my son and I was told that I could diabetes later on in life. I have been checked out and told that I didn't have it. I told my husband what happened he didn't seem to think it was anything. Any ideas.. I have insurance but I don't want to start going and not have some ideas don't like needles don't want to be a giena pig. Just scared it could be something serious.

What can I do next?

I wouldn't worry too much, I have the same problem occasionally, and it is actually a muscle weakness problem. My right arm is my primary arm and my left arm starts acting up if I use it too much. My doctor told me to do some exercises everyday to strengthen my arms and sholders and they really help.

Girl, this is scary! But get over your fears and GO TO THE DOCTOR!!! IMMEDIATELY. Just imagine how much more scared you'll be if this continues and you don't know what it is. Besides, you may be putting yourself and your children at risk.

Odds are, there is a treatable cause for your tremors. But you'll kick yourself if you wait and later find out that you've allowed a small problem to become major by letting your fear paralyze you.

I recently had some weird rhythms with my heart. Heart disease runs in my family, so despite the fact that I maintain a high fiber, low-cholesterol diet, exercise regularly, and am well within the recommended weight boundaries for my height, I was TERRIFIED! I went to the doctor anyway and within a week was assured by a cardiologist that the problem was nothing. I share this with you only to assure you that I can relate to your fear. But look at your kids and tell yourself that you're doing it for them. SUCK IT UP AND MAKE THE CALL TODAY!!!

Good luck!

I would not WORRY either. I would just have it checked for peace of mind IF it seems to continue only. I have had muscle spasms like that before too. Nothing "wrong".
Prayer for ya,

If the arm that was shaking was the one that you were using to hold your nephew, it could have just been a muscle spams from holding him. I wouldn't worry too much. If it happens a second time, I would mention it to the dr. Besure to make a note of what was going on at the time.

I would recommend taking magnisium citrate. Start out with 400mg a day and increase a bit after being on it a few days.
And drink pleny of water, lots of water!!!
Fear not! Fear usually makes things worse.
God loves you!
