I have a Volkswagen and I need some repairs done before we travel for the Holidays. Are there any "mom and pop" mechanics, as opposed to the dealerships, in Albuquerque that do repairs on VW?

Personal friends (though I haven't seen them in a while)and have had them service VW for me in the past. They do a good job and DEFINITELY a ma/pa kind of place.

I've had VWs for a long long time and I go to R and Z Service on south Carlisle. Pat is awesome, very "mom and pop" and is a VW specialist. He is so good that he is very busy so call ahead to make an appt. BTW--don't go to the shop "Foreign Aide" sometimes they have good parts, but their service is lousy. There is a VW junkyard down on Broadway that has a lot of parts. You can email me directly if you want more info. Good luck!
I had VWs for years and for some of those years I was fortunate to have a VW mechanic as a close friend. His recommendations for local VW mechanics are:
Foreign Aide (they're either on San Mateo or San Pedro, I think) A little pricey but they do good work.
Personally, I went to Discount Auto on Broadway south of Rio Bravo for years. They are a great group of mechanics and probably a little less expensive than Foreign Aide.

If you'd be willing to travel to Rio Rancho, go to Rio Rancho Imports. They are very honest, we dont take our cars anywhere else. Owners are always there Randy and Kathie, they're very nice.
