Seeking Therapist or Counselor in Long Beach/Los Alamitos/Lakewood Area
Can anyone recommend a good counselor/therapist in the Long Beach or Los Alamitos area? I've tried calling two that are on my health insurance plan, but neither has called me back (after several weeks). My aunt suggested it's because the ones who take insurance are busy, so I might have better luck if I searched for all therapists, not just the ones on my insurance.
I'm looking for a marriage and family counselor for myself, if that helps.

Joni Davis in Naples is great and gets to the bottom of things quickly. Her rates are very reasonable especially for couples.

I would recommend Nicole Burik in Los Alamitos. I think she has an office in the Long Beach area on some days as well. She is excellent. Here's her website that has contact info www.nicoleburik.com

Try Nancy Farris in Los Alamitos. Also the center for individual and family therapy in Los Alamitos has some good Christian counselors.

I know of someone I believe does really good work as a Marriage and Family Therapist. His name is Mark Gery. He works with individuals, couples, children and families in Los Alamitos. You can view his profile on therapists.psychologytoday.com If he doesn't take your insurance there is a good chance he will be able to adjust his rates so it works for you.

My husband and I went to Brett Williams. He's a little further than Los Alamitos, but I LOVED his approach.

Our insurance didn't cover the cost, but Brett would still only charge our co-pay to help out. Hope that helps.
