Hi! I am struggling with a shoulder injury and would love to get any information on doctors you may have seen for your shoulder and whom you found to be very good and you would refer. Sorry - I forgot to add that I'm in Watertown and can go to anywhere BCBS is accepted. Thanks!

Thanks so much in advance!!

I just saw Dr. Owen McConville (sp?), an orthopedist. I loved him!! He saw things on my x-rays that my pcp missed. He convinced me to have a cortisone shot instead of PT and I didn't even feel it! My shoulder has been hurting me for over a year and now it's practically perfect. He has a great "bedside manner," too, especially with my kids who I had to drag along to the appointment. He comes to Harbor Medical Group at the Stetson Building in South Weymouth every two weeks, which is where I saw him, but I don't know where his primary office is. I would definitely start with him!

Not sure where you are, but I saw Dr. William Mitchell in Brookline.
He is at: Sports Medicine Brookline,830 Boylston St Ste 112, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467, Phone: ###-###-####
He sees patients at another location, but I am not sure where. He does his surgeries at the New England Baptist, which is well known for orthopedic surgeries. Hope you won't need that!

MY DH has a small tear in his rotator cuff---he had a knee replaced 3 years ago by Dr. Phillips who is with the Mt. Auburn hospital ortho group--the shoulder guys there are Dr. Burke and Dr. Troy---both great. We are not fond of the MRI department but the ortho group is outstanding.

Feel better soon!

Hi K.,
Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your shoulder. I work at MGH and all of our physicians refer their patients to Dr. Perlmutter at MGH. He specializes in shoulders and is highly recommended. On a personal note, Dr. Perlmutter saved my dad's severely inured shoulder when other doctors told him his shoulder was too bad to be saved.
Hopefully this is helpful and it works out for you. Mary

Hey There,
I suffered a bad shoulder injury in February in a very bad skiing accident. I am still doing PT once per week. THe ortho people I saw were pretty good. I liked the office and staff. Very accommodating for scheduling. I saw Dr. Allis K., but I've heard that Dr. Paul Re (pronounced "ray")is even better. They are both in the same practice, which is Orthopedic Affiliates. Their main offices are in Concord and Westford (I wasn't sure where you are from so I hope this helps).
Good luck. I know your pain!
