Help! I am in my late 30s and think I am going through puperty again! I had an occasional pimple during my pregnancy w/ the boys. However, earlier this year, I began to break out and attempted to treat it w/ OTC medicines. I think it is time to see a specialist. Can you recommend anyone in my area? Thank you in advance.

What can I do next?

We see Dr. Christy Woodruff. I used to see a dermatologist in Houston that was always pushing cosmetic procedures and Dr. Woodruff does not which I appreciate. She is friendly and thorough although the only tip I will give you is to come in with a list of your concerns. If you bring up something that you didn't tell the nurse initially, she will sometimes seem like she doesn't have the time for anything extra.

One other thing...a few years ago, especially after the birth of my son, I was like you and wondered what was up with my complexion and the constant breakouts. I tried lots of things and after seeing Dr. Woodruff things are WAY better! I also switched to mineral makeup last year which I think has really helped a lot. I wrote an article for SugarLandMom.com about it a few months ago with some additional resources that might be helpful to you in deciding what type of makeup to use (its in the Green Mom section). Good luck!
