More Skin Problems
I finally seem to have my acne under control after 4 years of adult acne begining after my daughter's birth. I still have dark red spots from the scares. They are slowly clearing up, but is there anything that I can do to help them heal/fade faster?
So What Happened?™
Thanks everyone! I think that I will give the Mederma a try. The scares are fading and some are totally gone, but I'm sick of having to wear makeup to get the mail. LOL. I do use Bare Minerals, which I believe is responsible for the progress that has been made. I'm not so concerned that I would do any laser treatments, just impatient really.
Thank you all for taking the time to share your experiences.

Microderm abrasion can be very helpful in lessening the appearance of scars. Also a good facial scrub or mask can help.

There is a wonderful product called TheraNeem...
Neem is native to India and has centuries of documented uses for many skin ailments. (google it for more info) I began using the bar soap ... on my face and it has completely healed it of acne. I am over 50. My skin has been a challenge my entire life. I inherited my fathers oily skin and consequently - the other things that go with. I cannot tell how this has changed my life.It was simple - inexpensive and works. I never thought I would find anything that would fill all of those needs. I also use their cream.(as a moisturizer on my face, hands, feet - any where there is a significant need and it is just the best.
The bar soap is about 7.99 or so and the cream, which lasts a really long time is about 16.99 or so. You can order it online, or some of the better health food stores carry it. Best of luck to you. I wish I had known about this decades ago. But now I do and my skin looks fabulous!

With the pediatrician's advice, I used a Scar Gel I bought at Walgreens. There was a name brand available but I purchased the Walgreens brand and had excellent results with the scar on my daughter's face. No redness is seen. I also make sure that she uses a sunscreen, especially on that area. If you have any skin uneven-ness, you'd have to see a dermatologist to smooth it out.
Good luck.

If you can see a dermatologist, that is the way to go!!! There are tons of products out there that will really improve your skin. Only they can diagnose it and prescribe a good product. If you have insurance, it's usually covered. Mine put me on Ziana for discoloration and acne casued from excess oil production.

There are various products on the market, I imagine. Check with your dermatologist. Two things that are very helpful to minimize scar formation and/or coloration are: 1) use a sunscreen with at least an SPF 30 every day and; 2) don't take mega doses of vitamin C. You might also look into vitamin E or K oils for topical application.

Morning W.;
Yes, real alavara leaves! Peel the skin back on the leaf and put the jell directly on the scars!
If you do not have a plant, talk to your neighbors, most
of them will probably have several!
Good Luck

A good friend of mine had terrible acne scars (she also had pregnancy induced acne with both of her children), so when she was done having kids she had laser skin resurfacing and it made an enormous difference. You would have to see a dermatologist to discuss it. I'm sure it's not cheap but if it is affecting your self-esteem then it is worth it. Good luck!

Merderma. After having a masectomy the Doctor recomended this product to heal the scars. It really works. Just use it daily. You can get this at cvs or any drug store. It is not cheap but you are worth it! Have a great week!
