Seeking Proven Remedies

My daughter is taking antibiotics for a sinus infection. She is eight months old and she has developed a diaper rash, I have put balmex and olive oil on it to soothe it. Although she is not fussy, I just don't much like the look of it and I was wondering do I have to wait until the antibiotics are finished or can I do something now.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. I spoke to the nurse at the ped. and she asked basically was it a rash or a dotty rash. It turns out that if it is a dotty rash, it is a yeast infection and could not be treated by traditional things. So I bought Lotrimin like she said and now we are just waiting to see what happens. Who knew, a yeast infection.

My daughter got sick when she was about 6 months old and they had to give her antibiotics.. She got a rash as well...her's ended up being a yeast infection. Apparantly she inherited it from me...when I have to take antibiotics they have to give me something for it everytime, or I have to eat yogurt every day.
Not sure if that helped or not, but it was the first thing that came to mind. They can give you a cream to put on it.

my daughter had an ear infection too when she was about that young, but I used Boudreaux's butt paste for her diaper rash. It is kinda expensive, and the tube seems so small when you get it, but a little bit goes so far and the rash went away in a day. It truly works great.

Arnica gel and chamomile lotion are very gentle yet very soothing. You can pick up either one at the health food store. If there is a lot of redness, the arnica really helps take that away.

Hope this helps. Let me know!

Hi T.,
I do not know the answer to the diaper rash question but I wanted to let you know that if you have not tried Dr. Bourdeaux's Butt paste for the rash try it. It is all natural and really seems to work better tham balmex and desitin. You can buy it anywhere.
I am also 31 years old, I have a 1 year old boy I stay home with and I would love to meet up some time to hang out with the kids if you would like to.
I live in Indialantic. Talk to you soon,
