Hi! I just turned 40 and have a five month old and two year old. I have been trying to find a group of older moms in the area to talk, have play dates and such. I did the reverse method of career, travel, etc. first, then the kids. Does anyone know any moms or any mom groups I can join for older moms? It can be anywhere in the Orange County area. It's a bit lonely not to talk to anyone or do things with the kids. Also if anyone has advice on what I should do, I would appreciate it! Thanks for the suggestions!

Hi,
I can relate I'm 41 and my daughter is 3 1/2 and I work full time so trying to find the time & the other moms to relate to is hard. You might want to take a look at: http://www.meetup.com you can search by area, distance and interests. There are lots of moms groups on that site & you could even start your own group. The MOPS groups are a good idea as well. I know the YMCA, Library and Community Services also have activities for kids where you can meet other moms, they might not be close in age but it would get you out of the house.

I'd be happy to meet you some time, when the rain stops at Olympic park in MV with my daughter after she is out of school around 4pm if that might work for you. You can email me at ____@____.com luck!

I use to belong to the Laguna Hills mom's club (and there were mom's who didn't live in LH that belonged) and only quit because my kids got into elementary school and into other activities - just didn't have time. But there are many older mom's in the organization. There are plenty of younger mom's too - who are a lot of fun. Try joining your local mom's group or a MOPS program in your area - and if you don't click, try a different city of church. There are PLENTY of ladies in your stage of life at the same time. http://www.momsclub.org/links.html#California or http://www.mops.org/ Good Luck

I am in the same situation and I also live in Orange County. I am 41 and just had my my son 8 weeks ago. Perhaps we can organize our own older moms playgroup if no one knows of anything in the area.
I am going to a neighborhood playgroup this Tuesday and I am curious to see if I will be the oldest mom there, which I typically am.

Hello! I have been wondering the same thing..I am 31 with a 7 month old. I still work full time, but thought the weekend would be a good time to socialize with other moms/babies. If you want to get together or if you find out about an older moms group, let me know! C.
