Seeking New OB/GYN, Clarksville, TN

I'm new to Clarksville and don't know any women that have babies that are not military, so I have no idea where to start my search for an OB/GYN. I have been approved for TennCare Medicaid. I'd prefer a female, but when it comes down to, I really don't mind having a male dr. I mainly want someone that will let me feel really comfortable, and that is very informative. I also would like someone that not only has their own office but that is associated with Gateway Medical so that they can deliver my baby, or at least be a part of it. After all, not many of us are ok with a stranger delievering our children. If you have any referrals please let me know. It's ok if you don't know if they take my insurance, I can check.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

thanks to everyone for their responses. i did make an appt at premier. everyone else i called couldn't get me in until DECEMBER!! unfortunately by the time i have my appt, i'll be almost 14 weeks pregnant. this is my first pregnancy and i asked the nurse/receptionist if it's ok that my first appt is 14 weeks into my pregnancy and she said yes. i would love to get your opinion about that. everything seems to be going well though... i'm getting morning sickness, excpet usually nothing comes out, just have to go through the ENTIRE motion! lol. and i'm pretty nauseated for most of the day. aslo, i've put on some weight :/ not sure if that's normal since i'm 9 1/2 weeks now. i've gained 5 puonds. i blame it on the fact that i eat every couple hours to just keep from feeling to sick. for the most part i watch what i eat, but sometimes only spicy or tomato-y foods make it go away. i am looking forward to my first appt, although i know i will end up being frustrated since i've been told that at the first appt they just ask a lot of questions and confirm that i'm pregnant. i already had to go to the health department to confirm the pregnancy, and i've already had a follow up where she asked if i had any questions and gave me a lot of advince on how to work out and what to eat, and things like that. so i'm really ready to get a move on with these appointments.

Hi there....

I do not know this doctor as an OB but she has been by GYN and has gone way above and beyond what she needs to be. She is very personable and wonderful doctor. I know others that have specifically requested her as an OB so she must be excellent as and OB as well. She is part of Premiere and is connected with Gateway... infact here office is in the business building next to the hospital. Her name is Dr. Sawyer and is on the second level of the office building. I know they have many OB/GYN in the office but she is the only know I know.

Good luck in your search!

Dr. Macintosh and Dr. Anderson with Premier OB/GYN are both awesome. I used Dr. Macintosh through my last pregnancy and found him to be patient, attentive, and respectful of my wishes. Dr. Anderson ended up being the doctor who delivered my son. He was probably the kindest doctor I've ever met, and the nurses at the hospital said he is one of their favorite doctors because he just treats everyone so well, patient and nurses alike. He also was very patient and respectful of my wishes and a very calming influence in a stressful labor. I would highly recommend either one of them. They do work with Gateway, and their office is at the hospital now. The phone number there is ###-###-####. Best of luck to you!

Hello there,
I have been going to the Clarksville OB/GYN clinic on Memorial drive for 7 years now. And although I see a male (Dr. Crawford), it' hard to get an appointment with him directly. Usually they have the RN's available, which are females. They are really great. They take their time for questions you might have and explain everything in detail. Not sure about the insurance though. Good luck
