Hi, I am looking for a OB/ GYN in the city area that delivers in Cedar Sinai Hospital. Did not like my previous doctor at all!!! My last pregnancy ended in a miscarriage so I'm really looking for someone compassionate, patient, and that gives personal attention. Can anyone recommend one?

What can I do next?

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. I have worked with dozens of doctors at Cedars as a doula and can compare them to make a great recommendation. You've already been given several GREAT doctors' names ... they are all on my 'good docs' list. If you want a complete 'good docs' list, including office addresses and phone number, please let me know -- it's a fairly long list (which is wonderful, since the lists for other hospitals are very, very short) so it may not be appropriate to post here.

Dr. Naomi Suriel delivered my daughter and she was wonderful. Her office is in Beverly Hills right by Cedar Sinai.

Dr. Paul Crane.....he delivered my first son and is going to deliver my second in 8 weeks or so. When I was referred to him, the woman told me that he's the closest thing to a mothering male doctor you will find. He's compassionate, he listens to what you want and respects it. Both my husband and I are so thrilled we found him to bring our children into this world.
Good luck to you.

The absolute best Ob/Gyn in BH is Susan Cohen, MD, 8920 W Olympic Blvd., ###-###-####. She's very honest, very real, non-judgmental, extremely personable, caring....I could go on and on about her. She's very thorough, takes the time to answer all of your questions, gets to know you. Her office is beautiful. I've referred too many of my friends and colleagues to her, and they all rave about her as well. She once called me personally before office hours to say that she was delivering 2 babies and would not be able to keep her appt with me, and she apologized profusely. She then said she would come in on Sunday to see me for my (very routine) check-up! Even though I moved away before she could deliver my baby, she's delivered many of my friends' babies. She doesn't just show up and catch and deliver like many OBs either. She checks up on you personally through the whole labor. Also, her office has free parking!!

Dr. David Kline is so awesome! He did not deliver my baby (since I had a home birth) but he was my back-up doctor and I've since made him my permanent OBGYN. If I were to have a second and if I needed to be transported, he'd be my guy! He's not a super touchy-feely kind of doctor but he is completely honest and respectful of what women can accomplish during birth. If you want to go natural, he'll do his best to support your choice. His address is 10309 Santa Monica Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90025. Good luck!!!

Dr. Jay Goldberg is the best of the best!! I cannot say enough great things about him! He delivers at Cedars. He delivered BOTH of my babies and is fabulous. Here is his info: Womens Care Of Beverly Hills 8920 Wilshire Blvd. ###-###-#### The office is great. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Receptionists even are nice and on top of it, and the nurses are exceptional. There are atleast four other doctors there to choose from also in case he isn't available. Good luck

I went through the same thing and felt just as you did. I just wanted someone to actually listen to me and be extracautious as not to miss anything that can be prevented (not that anyone can give u 100% garantee). My OB now is Peter Weiss and I adore him. There is another doctor in the same office Rebecca Brown who I've seen a few times... and she's one of the most compassionate doctors ever. They are both wonderful ###-###-####
You can also try Dr. Robert Katz (same office as Jay Goldberg) who I've heard a lot of good things about as well.

I am not from your area, so I can't give you a name. But if you are looking for compassionate, personal and women centered care, I would suggest that you consider a midwife.
They typically (and I do know there are exceptions) take more time to get to know you, address your concerns and all in all take care of you as a whole person during your pregnancy, instead of just being interested in your uterus and vagina.
Good luck!
