I spent six months on clomid and aside from being irritable and sick saw no results. I saw the top specialist in the state( I was in a race agaisnt my own body), no results. finally my ob/gyn Dr. Jacque LaBarre said he had a new combo he had tried on two other patients and it had worked the first month!! I said yes, and sure enough I got pregnant the first month. It involves a strict cycle of clomid, progesterone cream insertion, and estrogen pills. They must be in a certain order for a certain amount of time. I wish I could be more exact but it was almost three years ago. You could ask Dr. Labarre though.

P.S. He is also a WONDERFUL DR.

I had trouble conceiving my daughter and was on clomid for 7 mths before I became pregnant with her. My advise is to hang on girl cause it WILL MAKE YOU EMOTIONAL! I also found out after starting clomid that I did not ovulate normally. I ovulated on day 19 instead of 14 like most normal women. So try an ovualtion kit and track your ovulation along with the clomid. Hang in there it may take some more time but once you get pregnant it will all be worth it. I will keep you in my prayers! Take care!

I can honestly say I know where you're coming from. It took me 5 years to conceive myself but a lot of things changed through the years. You would have no idea how much stress affects your ability to conceive. I've gone from being a worry-wart about EVERYTHING to taking life one day at a time. Quite literally a month after I started taking Yoga, and doing meditation, I conceived almost instantly. I had irregular cycles also, but they were completely stress related. I hope this helps!

Best wishes,
S. V.

Hi there. I had alot of problems with irregular periods too. I started taking a vitamin that really helped me called Evening Primrose Oil. You can get it over the counter at Wal-Mart for about $6.00. Now I have three kids so it may be worth a shot for you. Take care, good luck, and God Bless!!!

I agree with the previous post. I tried to conceive for 4 years. They finally did blood test to check my thyroid. It was low so they gave me cynthroid (not sure of the spelling) to get the levels up. It must have worked because I became pregnant soon after taking the pill. Also, ovulation test kits work well too. If I remember correctly you should count 14 days from the day you start your period and then have intercourse every other day until day 22. I hope this helps. Good luck. I know from experience it's very hard to go through. The absolute best advice I can give is pray pray pray. God truly does answer prayers.

This is totally off the wall...BUT I have a co-worker who swears by the liquid form of Geritol. It's a vitamin. She tells everyone who is trying to have a baby that. I can't say for sure that it works but I tried it and was pregnant almost instantly. I can't say that I'm not a fertile myrtle though. However, Another co-worker tried it after trying to get pregnant for a year or so and within the month that she gave in and tried it...she was pregnant. We all thought the woman is a loon but everyone who has tried it...it HAS worked!!!

M. P.,

Hi. First, both you and hubby need to have perfect eating habits. Cut out caffeine, tobacco, and alcohol. Sleep well, 7-9 hrs/night.

Lastly, both of you need little to no stress in your life. Both of you take a yoga class together, take walks together and spend quality, calm time together.

I've helped couples do this in the recent past. It works. Feel free to contact me if you like @ ____@____.com luck M..

My friends are going through the same thing and the doctors here have put them on prenatal vitamans to see if that helps. Ask your doctor about that and see if it works. Also you might need to get your partner check to see if he is capable of having kids.

My cousin is having the same problems and started taking clomid last week.. Let me know if you have any luck so I can let her know. Good luck!!!! She's been trying forever now, too. She was on the birth control shot for years before that, were you? Then had irregular periods for a year after that. Maybe that has something to do with it.

hi, i also had some trouble concieving after my first baby. 2 yrs of struggle and trying everything lead me to natural family planning it's simple but tideous, you simply chart your basal body temperature at the same time each day.. if you need more info send me a message. also i was taking prenatal vitamins, extra folic acid and vitamin b12 for a few months the vitamin b12 actually regulated my periods some. i also ended up buying an ovulation monitor. i learned alot about my body and especially learned to know exactly when i ovulated. i hope i was of some help. best of luck

Have you ever been tested to see if you have polycystic ovarian disorder? I have it. I was on clomid and we got pregnant with our first child. Then when she was a year old we found out that we were pregnant again. A few years later we wanted to try to have a son. I have hypothyroidism so my endocrinologist thought I had polycystic ovarian disorder so he had put me on Glucophage ( which is a diabetic medicine that also helps my condition) and we got pregnant. Then when he was four months we found out that we were pregnant again. We have a 8 yr. old, a 7 yr. old, a 2 yr. old and a 1yr.old.
My periods were so irregular that I could not believe that we concieved two children on our own.

Hi M.,
Call the Cornerstone Acupuncture Clinic in Austin- they specialize in fertility issues and they JUST opened a San Antonio location, I had been driving once a week to Austin, but now am seeing them here, and have had great success regulating my periods and ovulation. They're 512/302-5600, and their stats are insane- not a single miscarriage and super-high success rates supporting IVF. I just want everyone dealing with this stuff to know about them, check out their website. BTW, my OB doctor is happy to work in conjunction with them and the herbs and treatments they prescribe, as he has already been able to see the positive results in my hormone levels. (in only two months)
Good luck
