I am looking for a quality hairdresser in my area. We moved to this area (Northern Dayton) in October and I have yet to find someone who LOVES their job and takes pride in the work they are doing. I have had MANY horrible haircuts (by stressed out stylist with bad attitudes) and now have a fear of trying anyone else without a recommendation. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

What can I do next?

One of my best friends works at Uptown Hair Studio in Englewood her name is Kristie Mong. She has been cutting my hair and most of my friends for quite a while and has been doing hair for a long time. My brother's girlfriend also cuts hair at Tavernier's which is over by Wright State. Her name is Abbey Eyler and she is also an excellent stylist.

I can give you two great suggestions. I go to Jen at O'Neys in Centerville. She is fantastic. I also have had many terrible haircuts and decided I would rather pay a bit more and get quality service.
I also know of a girl that does hair at a salon near Fairfield Mall. If you want the name of the place e-mail me and let me know. Her name is Melanie and she is fabulous! I just don't go there because it is a bit of a drive.
Good luck in your search!

I know a great hair stylist in englewood, I had so many many bad hair cuts for years..... I went to all the upscale spas to get it done and never came out liking the style. I had a friend recomend Mary at Syle council. I was so nervous because this wasn't a fancy spa.... however I have been going to Mary for 3 years now, and absolutely love her and the style she gave me. Trust me she is great.
Good Luck!!

At the end of last summer, my son came home from his dad's in Oklahoma with a "new do." My ex-husband decided that Jesse (who has dark sable brown hair) should go blond. OMG!!! It was a color not found in nature. Ever so helpfully, dear old dad dyed Jesse eyebrows to match. It was SO,SO not good! I took Jesse to Wright Care Salon on Col. Glenn Highway just down the road from Wright-Patt AFB (the area B entrance). Matt helped us out and he was fantastic. It required a HUGE color correction and Matt did it beautifully. He even fixed the eyebrows! He gave Jess the best hairut he has ever had. It is a little expensive, but it's your hair after all, so it's worth every penny.

I loved Holly at Hausfeld's at the Greene. The salon just moved from Centerville to the new Greene location, or I would still be going to her. Further south, Diana at Mark Phillips (Centerville) is who I use now, and she's great too.

hi N.,

i have been with my stylist for almost 10 years now & i think he is the best ever!! his name is JOE BALDASARE and he works at a salon named STUDIO BLUE. the number is ###-###-#### & they are located on brown street, near university of dayton. i'm not sure what your price range is -- i'm not going to lie, studio blue is upscale & not a 'cheap' place. they price by what you want (i.e. cut, cut & color, cut/color/style, etc). joe is wonderful & will really listen to what you'd like your hair to do & i really think he is a gifted artist as far as hair is concerned. it's also a cute little salon with a nice atmosphere.

i hope you find someone you like, i know how hard it is to do so. i always tell joe if one of us moves i'd be devastated ;)

Hi N.,
Michaels day spa in centerville is excellent...although pricey...they always listen to exactly what you want and always do a great job.....also, Bella's Day Spa in Huber Heigts is great as well.

I have also been going to Fiesta Hair Salon off Woodman....they always seem to do a good job - but not as pricey! Good Luck!

Hello, N. H.

I am an african american and I truly love my hair stylist. I had problems prior to going to her and with treatments, my hair is together. In just 6mos she gave me special treatments and attention that was needed, without xtra cost. Give her a call or stop by. I also recommend the other stylist as well.
