I was wondering if someone could recommend a good stylist in the Norfolk/VA Beach area. I've been here a few years and have yet to find anybody I would go back to. Thanks for the help.
I would like to thank you all for taking the time to help me out with finding a salon. Now all I have to do is narrow it down to one!! I plan on making an appt. for next weekend so I'll let you all know how it goes.

Hi there -- I go to Anna at Anthony & Company in Ghent (Norfolk). I'm also married to an active duty Navy officer and am REALLY picky with hair salons. I've been to a lot of lousy ones (since we move all the time, right?) but Anthony & Co is a great place. Beautiful, upscale but not fussy, and really talented people.

Hello, I found Metamorphosis Spa and Salon on Craigslist. It's on Independence, north of Pembroke Mall. I like the shorter hair styles and Kim was awesome. I was able to discuss what I would like and she produce a wonderful stacked bob with multidimensional highlights. I've never totally loved a haircut until this last one. Before I found this place, I went to the mall salons and settled for what I can get. If you google the salon, you can get to their website and see photos of the ladies that work there.

I go to Bombshells. I live in Suffolk, but I think they have a location in VB too. I have tried a few of their stylists and they were all very good.
I moved here about a year ago, my hubby is in the USCG and we just had a baby girl - she is 2,5 months old now.

I go to The Look in Chesapeake it's off Volvo and Battlefield. It is a little pricey, but you get great service and stylists who know what they're doing. I always feel a little bit cooler for going there. I don't do all the salon and spa visits most women make so this is my special me time splurge. I see Joyce and she is wondeful. A shampoo, cut, blowdry, and style with her is $45. Her husband is military and mine is Navy so we get to dish on that.Good luck.

I have never been to Ambiance for a haircut, but I have used their spa before and it is wonderful.They are very professional and pamper you well. Sheer Bliss is great also. I know the owner and she's wonderful at what she does.
We go to Jessie at Hair Cuttery in Chesapeake Square Mall. She is a master. I realize it's a little farther than you wished to drive, but she is great - even with little children. I have followed her from her previous salon. You can call and make an appointment also, so your wait won't be too long.
I am a Navy spouse as well. I tried other salons but found that the Norfolk Exchange's Salon is great. The lady's are wonderful. I like Brenda and Jennifer and there is one other lady but her name slips my mind right now. They are also cheaper than the civilian's, if you are on a budget like we are in my household. I recommend appointments for the ladies but the gentleman you have to pull a ticket so don't go on a payday. Good Luck.

I go to the Hair Loft and see Debbie. She has been cutting my hair since I was three years old and I am now 27. The Hair Loft is located in Va Beach off of Holland Rd. in the Timberlake shopping center. She does a wonderful job and I don't trust anyone else with my hair. I love, love, LOVE my salon: Ambiance Salon, on Independence, across from Pembroke Mall. Just down from Good Woods, same plaza. I go to Debra, but any of them would be able to give you an amazing cut. They're fabulous!
I LOVE my hairdresser and she is located at Sheer Bliss which is located on N. Great Neck Rd. and Shore Dr. Her name is Virginia and I have been going to her for 4 years. I used to have curly hair before I got pregnant with my daughter and there are so few people who know how to cut curly hair...she did GREAT plus everytime I want a new look she really listens to me and does what I want, only better. I go to Ron Paul Salon and have tried several in the area. I would recommend Kevin or Angela. Angela does wonders with my hair and Kevin does my girlfriend's hair. I tried Reed Manning, Angelo Mesisco, and Dupree's since being here and have found the stylist I'll be keeping from now on.
