Seeking Hair Stylist in Pleasanton Area

I moved to Pleasanton 2 years ago and have been returning to the Penninsula to get my haircut. I now have a 3 month old baby and realize that this is impractical. I am looking for someone who can give a good cut and occasionally suggests new styles.

What can I do next?

Hi N.,
I can see you have had several suggestions offered to you regarding a hairstylist. I will echo the two who suggested Fusion 3. It is a wonderful salon. I have been going to see Anna for almost 5 years now. I use to live in Pleasanton and then moved to Santa Barbara ane would occasionally make the drive up just to get my hair done. The last time I went in for a cut I took my little boy who was almost 3 months old at the time. They were very patient with him and loved having him arround. I actually ended up having to hold him on my lap the whole time and they were very accomodating. The nice thing about Fusion 3 is that with every haircut you get a head massage and tea. Good Luck.

This is a little out of the way, but I go to a little place is San Leandro, called American Hair. The business is owned by a relatively young couple. Ann is the wife and she is a fantastic hairstylist. I went to her on recommendation from a couple of friends, I had commented how well cut their hair looked. Needless to say I was surprised to find they only charge about $14 a cut. She has given me consistently great hair cuts, as good or better than the fancy salons in town. She also does good color. She totally updated my hairstyle in a way I can manage as a busy mom. good luck.

Hi N.! I know what you mean about needing some help finding the right hairdresser.

I have been a client of Ming Wong for almost ten years. She works at the Justin Michael Salon in Dublin. She's a Toni and Guy trained hair cutter and keeps up with the very latest techniques. She recently went to a seminar in Long Beach for a one day hair cutting seminar.

She and I traveled to London several years ago where she attended a week-long seminar. We also went to Dallas a couple of years ago where the Toni and Guy beauty school is located where she spent 4 days in advanced hair cutting class.

She cuts my husband's hair, my granddaughter's hair, my daughter's hair (she comes up from Long Beach).

She's not only a great cutter but is one of the kindest, most generous person I've ever known. Tell her C. sent you!

###-###-####-her personal phone at Justin Michael.

Feel free to call her on her cell phone. She carries her appointment book with her at all times.

There are other great hair dressers at that salon which is all Toni and Guy.

I have been going to Stephanie at Artisan Salon in Livermore for awhile. I love that she takes the time to explain styling techniques when I ask. I have heard good things about the other stylists there as well.

Hope that helps and that you find someone you like!

I got to Fusion 3 Salon, it is downtown on Main St. I have seen a couple different people there (they have a team approach) and have never been disappointed. PLUS, every time you go in they give you a scalp massage and a hand massage! Hope you like it!

I also moved to the area a few years back & my real estate agent recommended a gal named
Suzi who is located downtown on the lower end of main st. I think the salon is called Garret & Co....but not positive as I only go there to see her so don't have that name committed to memory.
I love her. She does great highlights & layers. She would also be good to be able to help you choose new styles. For example I am 5 months pregnant & she pretty much talked me out of going short since that takes more styling effort & since she is a Mom of 2, she remembers in the beginning of the baby being born not wanting to make time for a more complicated do.
She is not cheap (what is in Pleasanton?) but I think worth it. (If you don't do highlights, I am sure she is more reasonable.) If you choose her please let her know J. Jopes sent you since I will see her soon. Her # ###-###-####

Leanne Meek is the owner and my stylist. I love her, the shop is easy to get to. I come from Livermore but was a San Francisco transplant and was commuting to Pacifica to get my hair done, until my little ones were here. Good luck!
