Looking for a Place to Have My Sons 1St Haircut Done

Hello everyone, I need to get my sons hair cut for the first time, he is 15 months old and we dont have a barber or salon that we regularly go to. Id really like to see if there is some place in the East Bay near Castro Valley that actually makes it really nice for the kids. Any ideas?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

hello there, I ended up taking my son to Cooltops in San Ramon and loved it. My 15 month old was seated in a race car with a video playing while the very fast stylist cut his hair. He got an official certificate, photo and baggy of hair for 15.00 which I though was great. I do think I will find something closer to home though and a little less spendy and all subsequent visits are 18.50 which I think is a little high for a childs haircut. Thanks for all the wonderful responses ladies!!

Cool Tops for Kids. It's great and they do a fabulous job. It's geared specifically for kids and babies and they do a "first haircut" for I think $15 and you get the hair and a little certificate with a photo. It's a great place! Good luck!

Bridget at Kids Choice in Alameda is wonderful. Lots of toys around and cool chairs for the haircuts. My son asks for haircuts all the time. She'sreally great with kids, and can cut hair super fast so they don't even notice. I suggest bringing a lollipop to help keep him still though.

Hi,

I found a place in San Ramon called Cool Tops. They are strictly for kids and set up for kids. They were quick and friendly.

Hi S.-
I also have a 15-month old son and live in Castro Valley. I take my son to All About Me in Livermore. (I also get my hair cut there.) It's a bit of a drive, but so worth it. There is a car and a jet plane that they use for the kids. There's also a huge plasma TV that always has a kids movie playing. Jenn cuts our hair, but there are also two other stylist. It's connected to a darling toy store too with awesome toys. Not like anything you would find at the mall. The website is

Hope this helps! :)

Hi S., I use a great Barber in the The Castro Village. They cater to the kids. When you walk in, he is the first Barber on the right (his name is Al I believe). The prices are reasonable and the location is great!

I have taken my 2 1/2 year old son to Cool Tops in San Ramon. They also have locations in Lafayette and Oakland. They have cars for the kids to sit on, movies to watch, toys to play with. And they cut his hair in about 15 minutes!! Their website is:

Hi S.~ I don't know if you live in Castro Valley, but... I have 2 sons and both of them had their 1st haircut at TAMMY CUTS on Castro Valley Blvd. It's located in the small shopping center next to Iris Vision and Longs Drugs.

You have to tell her that this is your child's first haircut and she is very gentle. My Mother In Law has taken my sons to another shop for hair cuts and have asked me to tell her that they prefer Tammy's. The price is affordable, very inexpensive and she will cut their hair in any style you want. Just be specific.

Good luck and take lots of pictures.

There is a great place in Danville. It is right downtown off of the 680. The name of it is Shear Adventures. Make sure you ask for Sheila. she does a wonderful job........even if your little one decides he doesn't like having his hair cut which CAN happen. I am a mom of a 17 month old boy and twin boy and girl that are 3 1/2 and all three of them have been going to her since they needed hair cuts!! Good Luck.
