Seeking Good Tv/cable Show Series to Watch While Exercising in the Morning

Hi. I don't watch a lot of TV because I am busy with 2 kids, but I would like to start waking up in the morning and watch a little TV while exercising.

However, I need something that will help get my a** out of bed. Something that is funny and entertaining and a series that each episode feeds from the previous one. I have HBO and Showtime and I can also rent something from Blockbuster. I just don't know any good shows out there that I can get in to.

Any suggestions!

I definitely like the Weeds and Dexter recommendations, two of my favorite shows. But, if you're looking for a funny show, I recommend getting Coupling (Netflix). It's a British show similar to Friends. The first episode is okay, but after that it just gets better and better. My husband and I laughed so hard at most of the episodes that my husband went out and bought the whole series.

Don't do it.... if you are naot hooked on any show, don't get started.

My sugestion: Audio Books. There are alot of great books that are a series, so you'll have lots of story. I have found that books are even better than movies, so deep.

I like fantasy and sci-fi. Some good series are (you can google them for details): Young wizards Series, Ender Series, Legend of the Seeker, Xanth Series.

Problem is you won't want to stop listening, but if you make it so you have to be excerizing, you'll have more than enough reason to do it.

But if you must have TV, Dexter on Showtime, pretty much any series on Showtime is great. You can always pick up a soap opera, that is forever and a day. You'll need a DVR so you can have it taped and read for you watch when you want.

Good Luck

Funny- I agree on the office, 30 Rock, and Curb your Enthusiasm. I also agree Dexter is great! Good luck! :-)

curb your enthusiasm is a great show - it's all about the life of larry david (the creator of Seinfeld). and yes, i second dexter as well! that one's a little darker. but still amazing.

Do you have TIVO or DVR or simple video tape machine? If you are not strictly seeking an exercise show, the shows THE OFFICE (funny) and HOUSE (on hour and entertaining) are my favorites. You could rent the whole series of old seasons and watch them. I watch both shows over and over.

I don't have a show to recommend, but I do have workouts that are not boring and that will give you results. I have done two of the programs that I am going to recommend and currently doing my third. If you go to www.beachbodycoach.com/fitjunkie you can see my profile as well as click on shop and view Turbo Jam, Chalean Extreme and P90X. Those are the three that I have been doing and have lost about 50 lbs. and kept it off. I am a Team Beachbody Coach and could help you find the right program for you. Go to my profile page and email me with any questions.

Like the previous person said, The Office is a very funny show, and also 30 Rock. I don't know if you like other types of shows besides comedies, but I like documentary type shows like Intervention and some of the medical shows like that...very entertaining.

Best of luck with your exercising and have a happy holiday season.

Sex and the City .. great show, PLUS .. it's 30 minutes per episode, perfect amount of time for your workout.

I do my workouts with Dr. Oz :) but that's later in the afternoon.

Good luck!!
