My husband, 19 month old son and I are new to this area of the state (Southington) and need to find all new doctors: pediatrician, ob/gyn and primary care. We don't have any family or friends in this area, so this is a daunting task! Any recommendations?

What can I do next?

I also go to Dr. Geddis! We love her!She was recomended to us by our neighbors when I was pregnant w/ my son who is just about to be 9 mo. The 2 boy aged 4 and 6 ( our neighbors children) LOVE her, which was the icing on the cake! She is a little militant with certain things.. she will check your diaper bag to make sure you have the things you need, and your cell phone to make sur eyou have poison control. But she is an asthma specialist ( which my husband and step daughter have) and she is amazing with my son! I usually see her at the Plainville office, and her staff there is AWESOME!!! I high ly recomend her!

Hi K.,

I see/love Dr. Luis Alonso of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine for my boys. The Cheshire # is ###-###-#### and they are located at 288 Highland Ave. He is very gentle and understanding and takes the time to talk to my older son and shows a genuine interest in our whole family. There are also other great doctors in that practice like Marie-Helene Pouliot. She has been seeing my 9 month old and she actually sat with me for 45 minutes to try and figure out his sleeping issues! Now that's dedication.

As for ob/gyn, I have heard great things about Obstetrics Midwifery and Gynecology on 416 Highland Ave. (but use Helm & Helm in Wallingford/Meriden).

I am currently trying to find a new PCP so I don't have any suggestions there.

Hope this helps. Welcome to Connecticut!

Hi K., I live in and grew up in Southington. I highly recommend Dr. Anthony Ciardella, he's on Main St. as a PCP. Been going there forever, and he and the staff are wonderful. My dentist in Dr. Ceplenski - his building is across the street from the library and next door to the hospital, again, I've been going to him all my life, the whole office feels like family. I take my son to Dr. Angela Geddis, in Plainville. She part of the Grove Hill Medical center doctors - she's been wonderful - my son was 2 months premature and she's been taking care of him ever since he was released from the hospital. On that note, right next door is my ob/gyn, who is Dr. K. Haverly - she delivered our son, and I've been going to her ever since I was a teenager - she's absolutely wonderful - she was right on the money through my whole pregnancy and made sure our son and I were well taken care of given the situation. (He's doing great now - 14 months old!) Hope this helps, and welcome to Southington!

Hi K., I am new as well to the area (Cheshire). We've moved from AZ last May and we are in the same boat. I ended up with getting many recommendations for Cheshire Pediatrics (420 S. Main Street, Cheshire, 06410, ###-###-####). I have a 13 month old son. As for a PCP for myself and husband, I went with Multicare Physicians in Cheshire (28 S. Main Street, Cheshire, 06410, ###-###-####). I saw Dr. Silver. I did not have any recommendations so I just went in for a check-up and I was happy with the service I got from him. As for an OB/GYN I am still looking as well! The hard part is that many of the practices that I've been looking into are not accepting new patients...that can be frustrating! Good Luck!
